  1. Looking for a starcki damsel and a golden butterfly. Any spotted?
  2. Saw a very nice and big clarion angel, some rock beauty angels and french (I think) angels, and quite a number of flame angels, yellow-eyed kole tangs and yellow tangs at LCK201 yesterday.
  3. How big is the tank? Doesn't seem like you can keep a lot of fishes in it after you put in live rocks. Your old leaking tanks cannot be DIY-fixed?
  4. Yes, they can be trained to eat prepared food. Just have to look for one which is healthy and greedy for food.
  5. Many yellow tangs (small), flame angels and ocellaris clowns spotted at Bukit Merah yesterday afternoon.
  6. Curious... what is the specific gravity in your tank?
  7. Tried hyposalinity treatment? May be some hidden (invertebrate) parasitic organisms and a hyposalinity may kill those parasites... How about using Chemipure to help treat the water?
  8. Royal gramma & Multibar angel are the most difficult for me. Simply too shy and non-competitive when it comes to eating.
  9. What sort of media do you have in your sump to accommodate anaerobic bacteria which breaks down nitrates? Meanwhile, suggest you use this product called Chemipure to clean up your water.
  10. Hyposalinity treatment for fishes => reduce specific gravity to 1.008 and hold it there (for up to 3 months, I think). Works for me. You can read online to confirm.
  11. Why cannot make your own saltwater? Wouldn't that be faster, cheaper and more convenient?
  12. A sump tank is easier to maintain & configure than powerful & effective filter canisters. Skimmer lightens the bioload but not fatal if don't have it as long as you have lots of live rocks and filter media for bacteria to proliferate and take care of the bio-wastes. If you really must have a sand bed, do read up "old tank syndrome".
  13. Sorry to hear your losses. It happened to me before. My guess is maybe something died overnight, leading to sudden ammonia surge and death of other fishes.
  14. Yes, and it caused my tank pH to decrease. The air must be acidic.
  15. Can yellow powder be dosed in a display tank? Will it impact the beneficial bacteria in the filters?
  16. I'm running a hyposalinity FOWLR tank (@ specific gravity of 1.009) containing tangs. Absolutely zero marine ichs.
  17. Suggest hyposalinity (@ specific gravity of 1.009) for lesser osmotic stress for the fish even if it continues to fast. Dim the lightings too. And soak your pellets with garlic to boost the fish's immunity.
