  1. Now now that the tank has been set up, it was time for rock scaping. I always have been a fan of unique rock scapes. In the past, I would buy mushrooms all becos I like on the rocks they attached on. Sad to say I couldn't reuse many of my 4 feet FOWLR rocks as the tank was exposed to copper treatment in the attempt to save my fishes. Many of them were Tonga rocks which made it all the more heart aching. So before I went rocks hunting ... I had a good look on what rocks I have left that can be used and bought expoxy to see what I can come up with. After the epoxy had dried ... I tried to combine to see what shapes I could come up with... Of all the pieces, I like this the most, Different angle of the same rock piece.
  2. Hi Xeneryx, Hope this helps. I left out the dimension becos I think that have to be custom to your tank. Basically, I wanted to have an opening in the cabinet door see the full length of the refugium that's why I pushed it to the front. However due to constraints that openings did not happen.
  3. Hi bro.. Yes finally... I intend to keep SPS.... But I still prefer my fishes .. So still deciding... No hurry.
  4. These are the specifications of the new tank: Tankmaker: CR Aquarium Display tank: 5ft x 2ft x 2ft (12mm glass on the back and, 12mm crystal glass on the front, right and left view). Sump tank: 3.5 ft sump tank with 5 compartments It took me a while to decide on the sump tank design. Would like to "tank" Alex and Ah Heng from AM and Dan from CR for all their time and advice. The sump was made in mind of the skimmer I was intending to get which was SKIMZ SV253.
  5. Hi all. Started a new 5 by 2 by 2 tank. I started my first tank way back in 2003 with a 2 feet tank back in Uni days ... Slowly it became a 3 feet. After decommissioning my 3 feet , I had a 4 feet and a 2 feet cube. But nothing great as I was quite lazy... So they were a soft coral tank ( 2feet) and a FOWLR tank (4 feet). My interest died down when I had a major itch out break followed by power failure with took a lot of my treasured fishes. Recently my FOWLR had a leak so I decided to take this opportunity and start all over again. Hopefully by starting a tank tread it will force me to be diligent in the maintenance of the tank. Will update more soon on the new tank.

  8. For those looking for AT, there are 3 M size ATs at CF. 2 of which are feeding on pellets. You all might want to check it out. Didn't ask the price as auntie was on off today.
  9. Feeding your super sun will pollute the water. I will volunteer to off load them for you. Just sell them to me... HAHAH
  10. Good Luck. Next time you get a fish. Make sure its already feeding b4 u buy it. Most LFS will allow u to test whether the fish is feeding. Unless u are very confident that u can train the fish to eat by urself. Cheers
  11. try flooding ur tank with mysis shrimps or live brine shrimps Hopefully it will take a bite
  12. I would still prefer to use epoxy is stick the frags. Less troublesome and safer too. Unless u want to take the opportunity to rescape ur tank.
  13. hahaha, have u tried glueing the frags instead?
  14. Anyway, i did the old fashion way by taking out all the rocks to catch the guy
  15. most "longkang" feeder fishes are brackish in nature, so they can survive in saltwater. In fact they can help control unwanted algae.
  16. If u have a betta box, you can place the male in it first. so that the female can get used to the presence of the male.
  17. haha.. you have to ask yourself wat drew u to marine in the first place... the corals or the fishes? cos if u intend to keep corals... that would limit the choices of fishes u may keep... and many beautiful fishes eat corals.
