Sharing my so so overflow pipe. Tested working but awful.
-
New set up as i see. Why not start a new tank topic and share ur stuff. -
Me too. I skip No2 during my initial cycle.NO2 is useless after cycle, so I'm not wasting money buying it now. All I need to test is ammonia and nitrates actually. I will wait for ammonia to shoot up, fall and nitrates to peak and the cycle would be over -
Kh n Mg would cause ur fish die.

Where you pick the rock and mind share the how much /kg? Nice scape u have.

Just my suggection.
Hi guys, I have a 45cm cube tank (approx 89 litres) and need advise for the following setup equipment: -
1) Whether a 35cm x40cm x25cm (H) sump tank sufficient? I have length and width constraint as such I can only increase sump height.
You may find not big enough later after put your skimmer, pump exclude reactor.
2) Whether a "Skimz SH1" Nano Skimmer is sufficient? This is rated at "Air intake, 60l/h, for aquariums up to 200 litres"
Should be fine.
3) Return pump, Eheim Universal 1260 or Compact 300, note that this pump will run the chiller as well as return to the main tank.
Try Jebao. Power saving.
4) Pharos LED light 90W or Maxspect G2 160W, am more inclined to the Pharos led set.
160W is a bit high side. If you tank height is not so tall, you may try 120w.
The main tank will be coral intensive as such I wouldnt want to make a wrong choice on equipment.
Appreciate all advise and opinions from senior reefers.

Nice and neat.

Add a cover to your tank. Clown fish will jump which i had encounter.

How about a Bubble Magus Curve 5 or curve 7 for your tank. I bought the Curve 5 for my tank and quite like it even though it is rated for 500litres. The skimmer started skimming the junk after about 2 hours of running. It is also very silent and runs at only 8w. The footprint is 18.5cm x 18cm. Therefore, a 20cm x 20cm will be enough for this skimmer. The only sound coming out from my cabinet is the drain pipe but it is still very silent.
Kindly pm the BM curve 5 skimmer price.

Convert my freshwater tank to marine. Need advice on the list.
List:
Tank - 2ftx1.5ftx1.5ftSump - 2ftx1ftx1ft (DIY)Overflow - DIYReturn Pump - JEBAO DC-3000 ECOChiller - Arctica 1/10hp - Use return pumpLight - Maxspect razor 120W 16KSkimmer - Not decidePlan to share the return pump with chiller. Now still can't decide the return pump and skimmer. Should I upgrade to Jebao DC-5000 and what skimmer better? -

Is a 1ft cube with ios.

I have 3 of them and they are together for about 5 months and they still peck at each other once in a while... seems to be normal - at least its not fatal. They smallest dun seem to grow much but the dominant one is quite big from the time I bought it.
Me too. At least the small still fight back and I still see it survived.

Yes. It was hammer. For the clown but they don't attach to it.

Sg 1.04. After hyper dip, it took me 2 week to cure the LR.
-
After hyper dip LR, keep 2~3 days out of tank and check for ammonia spike. Mine spike on day 2 from 0.25 to 4. Lucky didnt put back tank after dip.
-
Maybe can try take out the LR and use brush to take out the algae. If cant then consider dry out the LR cause it take quite a long time make it live again.
-
Happy reefing. Time to upgrade a bigger tank for that emperor.

It's recommended to start off with smaller tank like 2ft until u confirm will venture into saltwater. Tank above 3ft is better with proper marine system else you will waste a lot of $$$$ by then u want to upgrade. Freshwater n saltwater set up is totally different as it's more demanding. Read more before decide.
