  1. No. They are not safe because they are Zoas eating nudibranchs. You can pick out the big ones and can effectively get rid of them by dipping the Zoa colonies in freshwater or solutions sold in LFS whenever you see them. You have to keep a lookout for them because there are probably egg sacs in your aquarium. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  3. Bro, Is that a juvenile Queen Angel? It looks beautiful! Your corals look amazing and your fishes look really healthy too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. The aquarium looks really amazing. By the way, may I know if your rose bud tip anemone has ever devoured your fishes? My anemone grew so large that it killed my yellow tang followed by my purple tang in the span of a month. I saw both the fishes being swallowed. Now I fear for my other big fishes. 8. Dear bros, The images are definitely very helpful to newbies like me on identification of sps. To the untrained eye like me, I have great difficulty telling them apart since they exhibit different coloration under different lights too. I hope I'm not being imposing here, but if possible, may I suggest that other than identification, the experienced bros can indicate the form (e.g. tabling), light (placement in aquarium), flow or other specific requirements etc. That would be most helpful to many of us new to sps here. Thanks a million!
  9. Wow, these colors are awesome!
  10. Hi, You mean you keep the Caulerpa in the sump tank? Are there any lights? If yes, how long do you have it switched on? If it turns pale, it is either going asexual or dying off. Mine used to be very prolific when I have the lights on for 12-16 hours.
  11. It could be snails. One of my aquariums used to have some pinkish eggs and the next thing I knew, I somehow had a snail population explosion not long after. Good luck.
  12. Dear bros and sisters, I came across this series of LED lights built by Dave Fason that are very compact and can be customized in a number of colors. There seems to be fave reviews overseas on his lights and I'm wondering if any of you in this forum has seen or tried it before. Some of these lights are: Nano Box Mini Tide Nano Box Duo Nano Box Quad http://nanoboxreef.com/store.html Thanks.
  13. Bro mellow, There are certainly downs in this hobby for me too. But I have learnt important life lessons from this hobby too. As in our own personal lives, we sometimes hit rock bottom and bounced back up again stronger and wiser than before. No one is infallible and humans will make mistakes. But as long as we remain positive and do our best to try to achieve good results and outcomes, we shouldn't be too hard on ourselves. Although sometimes I think this hobby is like gambling. I lost too much money here and I'm still forking out more over and over again like an addict, which scares me sometimes. But that's another topic. So yes, I love your discipline to keep the aquarium clutter free, something that I constantly struggle with but my pocket is only so deep. So, I guess you must have mellowed down somehow hence the nickname. I mean every single word of what I said about your aquarium. Open spaces make us feel more at peace, calm, relaxed etc, because small tight spaces are claustrophobic, even in my mind. Sorry for me rumbling on and on. It's embarrassing.
  14. Bro mellow, Everything looks so natural, peaceful and beautiful. One of the best I have seen around without being so overcrowded. The diversity is good, as with the colours. Your wall of GSP is like a green wall and must have taken some time to grow to this state. I don't know if I have said it before but I really love seeing your posts. I commend you for this awe-inspiring masterpiece of art. Thanks for starting my day with these amazing photos.
  15. Bro Admiraltian, What's the reason for your switch from the AI Hydra to T5 now? To bring out colours of the SPS which the LED failed to do? I'm asking because I'm considering switching from LED back to T5 and want to hear whether others are feeling the same? Thanks.
  16. Bros, Does anyone know whether there are any Taiwan lfs that is worth going to buy back any corals e.g. Zoas? Thanks.
  17. Lol. I thought this was supposed to be a comparison between the Sanrise Aqua vs Maxspect Razar. The price for the Sanrise is not cheap but promises many features such as wifi controller etc. I'm keen to hear reviews from those who are using it too. Thanks.
  18. Mini-reefer bro, May I know whether you use a chiller because I don't see it listed. If no, how do you maintain the temperature? Thanks.
  19. Bro, What was the cause of the crash? Was the problem adequately addressed now? I noticed an empty reactor (phosphate?) beside your IOS. What is it used for? Are you planning on having more fishes and corals? The water doesn't look very clear to me. Do you have some form of chemical filtration?
  20. Bro, To get rid of critters in the liverocks, the easiest way for me is to soak them in freshwater for about 10-20 mins. A lot of these worms etc would crawl out and die right before your eyes. It's better this than putting the liverocks into the tank and monitoring them from outside.
  21. Bro, It's a good start and I like your mix of corals and fishes. My only comment at the moment is I feel the rocks wall is a bit too overwhelming and flat and possibly at risk of toppling over. In addition, the circulation behind the wall is going to be bad with dead zones. Unless a vertical wall was your intention, you can consider going for a more 3D effect by using tonga branches or more opened rocks that sticks out of the wall. All the best!
  22. Bombom, I'm so sorry to read about your appendicitis and the loss of your corals. More importantly, I hope you are completely well now. If there's no one else at home who knows how to look after the aquarium, then this tank crash will happen inevitably when the owner is away unplanned. This is one reason that stops me to upgrade to a bigger 6 feet tank because the heart ache would be terrible.
  23. Years ago, when I was exploring getting a new tank for the home, I saw the setup by At @ IMM where they told me the Cyanobacteria in their entire tank was coralline algae. I might have started reefing not long before that but I knew the differences between the two. There was also a lot of other misleading information from them and I felt they were dishonest and unreliable then. It's surprising that they actually survived and are still around doing this con business.
  24. No. If you are referring to the slit opening, that is the mouth part where it ingests its food.
  25. It's just missing for a day. Just give it a few more days. If it dies, do consider some other more docile and less territorial fishes to add to your aquarium first. All the best.
