  1. Love your collection of zoas. Wondering where do u get such frags from? All the ones I see at the lfs are huge rocks. Sorry, I'm quite a newbie
  2. Thanks for the advice.. They do look much better under blue. Added some sunshine to the tank
  3. Thanks for the advice bros. I've tuned down the light to 40% on both channels. For maintenance, I've been doing 20% water change weekly with red sea pro salt and distilled water. Just got red sea reef A & B to try to buff up calcium and alk. Yes, will get Mg and PO4 test kits next. This coral never seemed very healthy since I got it. Think that head is totally gone... dont even see any polyps now.
  4. Thank you for all your kind words! Yes, I got them as a pair This is my current full tank shot Still very bare. Tank is about a month old now. Had a bit of brown diatoms on the sand but that seems to be clearing. Hoping to add more lps along the way. Tank parameters: Temp 26.5 Ph 8.3 Salinity 1.024 Kh 9.9 (salifert) Calcium 400 (salifert) Ammonia 0 (salifert) Nitrate: 0.2 (salifert) I added this euphyllia (was told its a hammer by GO) a week ago... Doesnt seem to be doing so well. One of the heads has retracted. I've tried placing it everywhere, but it never seems to be happy. My maxspect peak settings are a/b 45%/45%. The other corals are doing fine, so I'm not sure what else to do. Any advice?
  5. thanks for the advice, i used less than 1 ml.... everything seems to be ok
  6. ok I nuked the aiptasia with a syringe of vinegar... and I'm going to bury him in reef putty for safe measure Here's a pic of my yasha goby that I put in 1 week ago.... finally came out of hiding and its feeding on frozen mysis
  7. Hi bro, awesome zoa garden you have... I've just started this hobby and planning to start a zoa collection too... Where do you normally buy your zoas?

  10. Horrors... just found this... is this Aiptasia? Front view Side if it is... what do you normally do to get rid of it?
  11. Thanks for the advice bro! I'll go look Henry up...
  12. Hi bro, first of all, very nice tank you have there. Is the goodbye PO4 easy to use? Do you have to dose it everyday?
  13. Yes, I already have a chiller running at 26deg.... Sorry... my post is a mess when it appears on a pc.... was ok when I typed it out on my phone in tapatalk.... Meanwhile here's a pic of my grammas
  14. thanks bro! You can get quite a nice standing wave with it, on the W1 wave mode... without any sandstorm. But my wife says the effect makes her seasick. So now I've got it on the random 'else 'mode. Its a bit strong if i point it upwards... but ok now that its directed slightly downwards to the rockwork. My single acan likes it... will update more when I stock up on corals.
  15. what a beautiful tank... very inspiring... hope my tank will grow up to be half as nice as yours
  16. Got these acans 2 days ago and now they are opening up... nice to watch them feeding on mysis... cooler than watching plants grow
  17. yes thanks.... love the new light

  21. Hi everyone, This will be my first foray into the world of reefing. I've been doing my research for the past few months and all the tanks here have been very inspiring. So I decided to decommission my planted tank 3 weeks ago and got myself the following: Tank: Ocean Free 96l AIO which comes with a 1200l/hr return pump, air driven skimmer and a strip of led lights Added 5 kg of live rock and caribsea Bimini pink livesand NSW to start Chiller: Hailea hs-28 Wavemaker: jebao wp-10 I've been dosing beneficial bacteria and throwing in some frozen brineshrimp to cycle. 2nd week added some snails and a banded serpent star Filtration: 1st compartment : filter wool 2nd : polyp lab biosphere in bag 3rd : Got a Skimz SH1 skimmer. Had to take out centre divider to fit it in 4th: carbon and rowaphos in bags 5th: return pump Currently week 3 Tank parameters- Temp 26 Ph 8.2 Kh 11.2 Salinity 1.024 Ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 5 Saw a pair of royal grammas and I couldn't resist Settled in well and feeding on frozen mysis. Recently also changed the stock lights to a maxspect razor 120w 16k So nice and blue now. Thought I'd just share this and I'll be most happy to hear any advice... Bunster
