  10. it really depends on the skimmer you are using.....if ventri based or Beckett type you can't....if those skimmer with a seperate feed pump (like some needle wheel) or air stone, you might be able to......bear in mind that the water pass through coil within the chiller thus you will have some head loss..... your picture also got some problem.....if not set up correctly, when there is a power failure, water might acutally drain out of the skimmer....
  11. i switch from a red dragon 10m3 to Rio HF20......frankly, i do not notice any differences in terms of its impact on the water quailty....in both cases, by NO3 cannot be detected by the test kit, and PO4 from Hanna shows from 0.00 (after rowaphos change) to 0,06 (1-2 months after rowaphos change )...... seriously, you should aim to give yourself good turnover, but beyond certain point, it gets quite meaningless and does nothing productive.....
  12. frag found......thanks bro, thread closed

    Aircon water?

too much copper kills fish also.....i don't know about the state of your aircon.....but when i measured mine using TDS there is 5ppm of 'stuff'.....as to what these elements are i don't know.....but i definately won't be risking killing off my LS for a few bucks save.....
  15. errr....i think not worth saving.....you will not know what type of elements gets release as these media melts....if tank crash, its worst then the cost of getting the CR media many times over....
  16. vinegar is cheap and good....but i dun think you need to dillute it into water was its already dilluted......please get the pure vingear and not those with taste....

  20. wow.....where you get your fishes from???? for me i actually find the price listed on the whiteboard cheaper then most.....some places i been to sell the swissgaurd for nearly twice the price....needless to say i grab theirs.... :D
  21. i never show tank...how to be master.... papaya....you can easily seek out the TRUE masters. most are nice guys and would gladly share their passion for the hobby with you over a cup of coffee.... they are also easy to find ...unlike what wlchew is saying.... :whistle .... just seek out the local TOTM winner....like AT, Scarab, danno and .....he whose name should not be mentioned here..... :D ...of course a lot more i have not met.....
  22. hahaha....he stays in a flat (big one), and he keeps a 6 footer.....that is why by comparison your is tiny...... i think for a big tank, you need big processing capacity. it might be using a up5000 pump but because of its design, the impeller is changed to a needlewheel (hummm...can anyone confirm that aquabee themself product needlewheel impeller or it is a modified from the pump?) so don't be surprise that the volume of water passing through it is very little....not sure about the model of the skimmer, but if it fits under a cabinet, i don't think its capacity is high.... he definately the master.....
  23. Red Dragon is German la....very good pump, extremely high return for its power consumption....i have the aquabee before and now using the red dragon, personally, i don't think the bee is anyway near the league of the dragon..... :D
