  1. Is that a hint of what's next to come? Nice looking naso.
  2. Hi Melvyn, Nice meeting you and Sunny last Friday. Invite's open...just give me a buzz.
  3. Nice scaping! Tank's looking good. Think the thorns you're referring to are the bristles from bristleworms. Kenna a few times already. Take care not to rub it off as it'll irritate the skin further. If you've got problems removing, you might wanna try an old trick we used in the Air Force (same problem when working with fibreglass) - stick masking tape over the area and rip it off.
  4. Are you guys going to Jalan Kayu tonight? If yes, count me in. What time? Gotta leave by 10pm though.
  5. If you've got the $ go for the Steinway & Sons. They're professional grade pianos but not sure if still manufactured. Otherwise, I think the Yamahas and Kawais quite ok.
  6. Big tang man! Soon gottat get bigger tank. So when's the next tank upgrade?
  7. So far, none leh. Have to say I'm very satisfied with the pumps up til now.
  8. Cannot feel heat coz got a fan blowing directly onto the pump but have to say that the cooling fins do a good job in dissipating the heat even without the fan. Vibration-wise, mounted the pump onto a wooden board and layered with vibration absorbing rubber mat. Also have flexible hose section at the intake portion so as to prevent any vibrations from getting into contact with the sump manifold which might cause that area to crack. The DART comes with a 2"-1.5" reducer. However, take note that this is the max allowable reduction so as not to induce stress on the pump. Also, the threads on the reducer are for American Schedule standards so the Japanese JIS standard thread on your male adaptor (if you're using JIS standard) might not mate perfectly. This was the reason for the leak when I initially connected the pipings. What I did was apply silicon sealant (not too much though) onto the threads itself and now, no leak. Hope the info helps.
  9. Not much space with the huge beckett right in front. Good thing my 9yrs in the RSAF prepared me for working in confined spaces...this is just like working on a helicopter.
  10. Yes Weileong. You've got a point there...DART has no cooling fan...only cooling fins. Well thought of.
  11. Nice going iceman! Did you get the stuff from Teck Cheong as well? Amazing what you could come up with using a little ingenuity huh?!
  12. Hi RAV65. With regards to the headloss, do take note that the DART is not pressure rated. Headloss will depend on the length of piping run (taking into consideration vertical climb as well as horizontal run), number of elbows, ball valves, etc. The pump has cooling fins which dissipate heat from the pump. I have added cooling fans on the bridge which is situated above the pumps for my FR. http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?...ic=35528&st=165 Hope the info helps. Cheers!
  13. Hi RAV65. The 2 Sequence DARTs I'm using are relatively quiet compared to the single md55 I'm using to drive my beckett. You're welcome to drop by to have a look for yourself if you'd like. Just give me a buzz during the weekend. Cheers!
  14. Looks like everything's coming along nicely. How's the skimmate from your schuran?
  15. Wow! Tank looking real nice! Recent shopping spree for new equipment huh?
  16. Hi ReDDeviLs, Hope this will be of use to you. http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-01/gt/index.php http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-04/gt/index.php http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-07/gt/index.php Cheers!
  17. Looks tight bro. Might wanna consider locating the topup reservoir outside if using tubby with the sensor in the sump. Any chance of placing the fr in the sump? May also consider making a small stand in the compartment.
  18. Hi acidjazz, Good to see you've sorted out the piping already! What's next?
  19. Hi Rav65, Make sure the gradient only applies to the border of your tank and not on the floor the tank is sitting on. The designer can come up with one thing and the foreman/worker might have another idea (personal experience). Must be very firm on this. Cheers!
  20. Hi alfaromeo, The chiller will be located at the a/c ledge. That's the reason for the long piping run to the ledge. Confirmed on a 1/2hp. No problems with noise and heat generated. Very satisfied with the DARTs. Very quiet. Yup! Weisoon's been a BIG help. Too bad his tank's not ready yet! Real sleeping dragon!
  21. Thanks monsterz1975. You setup very nice as well. Love all the Aquamedic equipment you've got. Your's is a monster tank at 6x2.5x2.5!
  22. A look inside. The extra shelves for additives and food.
