  1. Hi all. Had the time to work on 2 things over the weekend. Constructed a stand for my FR which will bridge over the 2 Sequence DARTs. Also added 2 colling fans on the stand for the DARTs. 1st pic: how it'll all be mounted.
  2. Wah! Your clowns like their hanky panky huh?
  3. Wow! HaanZii! You really are the DIY king man!
  4. Can try the Sequence series of pumps. So far, the drone very minimal compared to the MAK5 I've tried out.
  5. BTW, u gonna get the luminarcs? Good stuff man. Too late the orders and availability came too late.
  6. CAn't really recall but when I'm sure can definitely take the load. We can finalise when we go shopping!
  7. Hey! No problem man. Just let me know and I can bring you shopping for the aluminium rails and beams!
  8. Agree with Weileong on that. Always have gravity feed to your external pumps (ie.water level should be above inlet) and not have them over-work by having to suck water thru the inlet. BTW, finally the plans are out! Swee man! How are you mounting the lights? Any rail or way of moving the lights out of the way while you need to work on the tank from above? Cheers!
  9. How was the BIG DAY today? Hope everything went well. CONGRATS once again!
  10. Used to ride a Harley FLSTC before I left for studies overseas. Now cannot buy bike already coz gonna get married and start a family.
  11. Thanks weisoon. Just did a test run. Everything seems good. Flow from the pump that's direct to tank is strong. Flow from the other pump seems abt right...stronger than it previously was.
  12. Wah lao! Weisoon, what do you mean your tank not good enough? I was totally impressed by your tank when I 1st saw it...still am now! Just waiting for your sleeping dragon to be unleashed! dsam, take up his offer of advising you! No way you can go wrong...always very sound advice.
  13. Congrats lightningstrike! Best wishes for the beginning of a new chapter of your lives together.
  14. Yup. Planning to go sps. What will you be going for? Your tank will be HUGE! What thickness glass you gonna use? Definitely has to be more than 12mm. How abt the equipment?
  15. Hi alfa, Thanks! BTW, same tank maker as yours. No complaints abt the DARTs. Relatively silent and flowrate abt 5000l/h after considering headloss and friction loss. That's for only 1 pump! The other will be flowing in at lower rate coz of tee-off to FR and sump so as not to damage the chiller with such high flowrate figure should be arnd 2000l/h. BTW, how's the Arctica commercial? Thinking of getting it at the end of yr. Cheers! Mark
  16. Hi dsam, Hey, that's the same ht as my tank! Might wanna consider the width though. Will be easier to aquascape if it's 2.5'. The DARTs are relatively quiet compared to the md. I've mounted the pumps onto a 15mm wooden board and 2 layers of rubber to absorb the vibrations. Flow-wise no complaints. Figure that with the friction loss and head, I'm getting abt 5000l/h or more. Looking forward to seeing your tank soon. Let me know if I can help. Who's your tank maker? Cheers! Mark
  17. Hi dsam, Which ball valve were you referring to? The one in the middle of the overflow box was a mistake by tankmaker...initially meant for another return to the tank but with the dual dursos in there no more space. The one at the sump is just an extra which might be used for draining or other means of filtration. The pumps used are the DARTs. 110W. You can refer to Reefdepot's website for specs. http://reefdepot.com.sg/ Was in SBAB working on SPs. ORD in 1995 and went to Perth to study. Now teaching. Let me know if you need any help. Cheers!
  18. Thanks anthony! Yup! abt there! Was also thinking abt diy but think have to research what materials would be safe to use. Cheers!
  19. Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated. Cheers!
  20. Almost there...just gotta fabricate a stand/bridge for the FR just over the Sequence pumps and connect the FR and beckett. Noticed a slight leak around the 90deg elbow at the piping for the beckett pump (just after the sump manifold). Any suggestions besides pvc welding? Can I 'tampa' silicon sealant?
