  1. TDO is a brand of fish food. Got mine from Madpetz. Bro, I'm at Jln Kayu. Think I can drop by this weekend Pm me your address.
  2. Where are u at? If I happen to pass by I can drop off a small packet of my TDO for u to try I can let u have some Omega One flakes too since my fishes don't eat them anymore. So u dun have to go round trying different foods and hit and miss each time
  3. There are basically 2 range of LEDs. The high powered ones like AI and gang are built as MH replacements as they have the strong penetrating power that MH provides. This gives that shimmering spot light effect. Then there's the low powered array of LEDs. These LEDs usually comes in a set of numerous closely placed LEDs. In the right combination, these LEDs are good T5 replacements. The numerous LEDs allow for a wide coverage of light which T5 provides but as smaller wattage bulbs are used, these LEDs cannot provide the shimmering spot light effect of MH. Par38 happens to fall between these 2 categories. For a shallow tank, Par38 is able to act as MH replacements but more then 1 needs to be used to give the light coverage needed (just like MH). For deep tanks, Par38 are at best T5 replacements as they cannot penetrate the salt water as well as their stronger LED buddies. Problem is, it still does not provide the same light coverage T5 can produce. Hmm.. So back to the question. If u do not mind the heat and energy consumption of MH, I would say run MH with T5 and the sole purpose of the T5 would be to provide enough light for the rest of the aquarium, complementing the MH.
  4. Haha! TDO won't go wrong one I see my fishes everyday eat and eat only.
  5. True true... That's why acclimatizing the fishes before adding to the tank is always very important. Haha! Rental in Singapore expansive mah.
  6. Wouldn't it have a higher chance of survival if it's been accustomed to life in a tank and feeding on pellets rather than what's there in the wild?
  7. Just been to Coral Farm today. A handful of small yellow tang A few Juv emperor Angels A handful of S/M powder blue tang The rest of the fishes not much changes. True Perc clown are on a low but there's a handful of common clowns.
  8. Hmm.. So far mine doesn't really chase himself in the glass. Too busy cleaning up all my algae
  9. Haha! Say hi if we happen to meet at AM. in there almost weekly. Love ur Rockscape and coral placement. Looks like a fantastic reef to look out for.
  10. Use LED to create that effect lo. Adding a few PAR38 can achieve that le. But your wave got to create surface turbulence before that effect can be seen.
  11. Hmm... Do u happen to be a AM shopper?
  12. Tangs really grow very fast. It's fast until looking at it everyday also can tell they are growing.
  13. I will go for the DE lighting T5s. Zoas and fishes wouldn't need the intensity of light that the MH light will produce. So I would take the T5 light for lesser heat produced and also lower power consumption. Honestly if in future u venture into SPS, I think your T5 will still be good enough. Else supplement it with some par38 LED will be good enough.
  14. Hahaha! I have no idea man. There are still some algae around the tank but not a lot left. I did see him eyeing my other fishes during feeding time. Noticed that he watch them scoot around for food and he was scooting around too. But those time he was scooting aimlessly and did not eat any pellets. Guess he finally learned how tasty those tiny dots are.
  15. Yellow tangs eat those algae too. Mine cleaned up all my LR.
  16. Hahaha! U posted mah. So I thought was yours. I'm sure others thought so too.
  17. Haha! He even tried to squeeze into the feeding tube which was obviously too small for him. Now all my fishes fat fat. Whoohoo!
  18. Guess what? I fed my fishes this morning and Yellow Tang was feeding nonstop on the pellets. First time seeing him chasing after those sinking pellets. Super cute.
  19. I'm not encouraging u. But if u want a super small one, AM often bring in tiny ones of that size. They currently still have those 1 inch ones. Got to be careful when adding. Noticed that u already have a yellow tang and that may cause some trouble.
  20. Blue tang grows big really fast. It gets from 1/2 inch (if u manage to get those really sma ones) to 1 inch within a month or less. And they will continue growing at that speed and by the time they reach 2 inches U really need to sell it away. Hmm.. As for ur fire goby, is it feeding?
  21. Haha well free stuff always good. Hmm.. Didn't update cos tank having algae bloom. It's still blooming but seems to be reducing by a lot already. Current livestock: paired pecular clown with green BTA, Yellow Tang, mandarin, tail spot and cleaner shrimp. Everyone happily swimming and eating.
