Who needs to buy Branded stuffs when you can DIY right? Am dead sure you will come up with a DIY kalk stirrer in no time, cause you made DIY sulphur filter, kalk delivery system etc.... actually the blended fish food you made also quite similar to commercials... Believe Seet will give good price...maybe even dealers price...but can't we DIY? my mind is bent like yours to DIY.
-
Tigger can you do a kalk stirrer too? not S$5 but S$50 i believe and i can save on buying a kalk stirrer from deltec.
-
Whoah...you must be pretty free, how envious to be able to feed up to 5 times a day ! And oh yes, pretty cheap way of dosing 1.5L kalk via your diy delivery system ! who needs kent kalk delivery or tunze for that matter? Hey guys ! we have a DIY guru just about able to do anything and will help you save money ! Looks like no need to go lfs to buy equipment anymore...maybe i shall just pass you the buck for a "Tiger Skimmer" and damn those Deltecs, H&Ss, Suhran and Grotesque skimmer ! Give the man a Tiger !

The suhran jetkim must be really good, cos i cannot even reach 500ml (weekly ie. 5days for me) even when i feed henry's food daily in collection of skimmate for both skimmer. You must be doing water top-up very frequently ? Well it is a good thing as it coincidentally will help in more small water changes.

Wah so good ah? not many pretty boys can be intelligent, looks like this one is pretty and intelligent.....hehhehehe
-
Is that a new skimmer? hehhehe

Any new testing? me looking for another skimmer....

Turning cloudy is a good thing, it indicates the acidicity of the effluent "burning" the coral chips (or whatever calcium media that you place above the suphur beads) thereby causing the final effluent exiting the sulphur unit one that has calcium ions and high in dkh. Do check that there is no chokage in your exit tube. This cloudiness indicates that you are ready to have greater flow (the effluent drip) as overall sulphur-based denitrification by the T. denitrificans are efficient. Thus, faster cleansing of the nitrates in your tank. If it is cloudy in the pvc pipe, the water above the sulphur unit should also be cloudy. I pass the effluent through a secondary chamber of coral ships and carbon below before discharging. Cheers.

Looks like more and more people rally for Eighth Wonder, care to share?

Not tune to have fine bubbles but tune to have wet or dry skim.

Melvyn Tan replied to VanDeam's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
I run a Undergravel filteration and later shut it off to become a plenum (2-3 months ago), supported 4 tangs (chevron, atlantic blue, powder blue and yellow) + my fat spotted blotch hawk. All these without a skimmer (although i will be getting another skimmer soon as i will be increasing more tangs) So whats wrong with UGF? -

Now that Marina is announced - winner Sands, who do you think will win Sentosa? The Government has fulfilled its statement and shows to all that not all Temasek-linked company will win (there goes Capitaland & Keppel, the Capitaland TV ads previously is to celebrate its ending partnership). Previously it was announced that it will be investing outwards, inline with the decision in Marina IR to Sands. So nobody is gonna buy Capitaland this time round... Malaysia Disneyland may be materialising at Nusajaya near our second link, in talks with Oriental Land the ones that managed Tokyo Disneyland. This puts pressure in THE theme park needed in Sentosa and Genting partnering with Universal should be the hot favourite !!! Those who plan on a full fledged IKS, a couple of RD pumps, Tunze new Skimmers, H&S new Skimmers the choice is obvious (hope it will not be like MGM-Capitaland in Marina) and not go to Kerzner-Capitaland (the fellas behind the Atlantis, Paradise Island in the Bahamas)... So i place my 200-P16 hope in Gen Intl - Santa, i want an Industrial Strength H&S Skimmer this Christmas complete with H&S external filtration technique...

Officially announced today Las Vegas Sands wins the Marina bid ! truly the Black Horse ! Comes monday wonder will the share prices of Capitaland and Keppel go up or go down...

Agree absolutely...maybe you can try some other websites where they will provide feedback on h&s. I personally find them to be very good in terms of design, construction and in my view the epoch in needlewheel based skimmers. Very strong synergistic skimmer.

hi bro still alive and kicking, how is the dream girl you met at Reborn, still 'beoing' her often? hahahha, my 'hamsup' will be activated only when you are around - because you have a strong influencing effect hehheheh, just joking... Ok, thats quite a sight on the fluidising effect on CR. Do you have problems in the bubbling effect? ie. noticed the strong flow through of the media + co2 bubbling on the media resulting in the media floating off, now will this media float-off get recirculated to the pump?

There are privileges of lower charging rate to smaller units via rebates and all, so actually having a smaller unit but making it luxurious might be the right thing to do. Oh yeah ! smaller fully air-con 24/7 house with a huge tank makes sense, at least you need no chiller for the system.
