U can grow out some corals to the Left to shade the sand so that they remain nice and white. Or try angling the power head downwards. Or bring it lower. It's losing power to all the water volume at the top.point it to the bottom right. If the right clears up then maybe one more power head to hit the bottom left.

It's probably just shallow sand soaking and feeding nutrients. I'd try some new cuc that goes for those algae. Or cover the left and middle sides with more rock. It seems more growing on the left. Less on the right. Is ur flow rate higher on the right ? It looks to be that way cos ur power head indicates more current on the right.

How old is ur tank. New tanks tend to get such stuff. If u r running recommended setups that problem shld go away in about 6 to 9 mths. Flow rate is another possibility. Best to share a pic of ur current tank.

Hi guys. Any idea how to get a couple of pyjama fish out of my tank. Either diy fish trap or off the shelf fish trap recommendations will be appreciated.

I had a couple of wild crabs . They didn't cause issues. Mostly scavengers. watch out for corals dying if none . Shld be ok.

Additionally for ideas on tanks and setup. Google the images. Once u get a nice setup look u can aim for it and ask for tips. Like interior design .

I think u shld go check out some of the LFS for tank looks and tips from the bosses. They can tell u what to buy. I'd go for a 4 *2**2. LPs and fish . LPs r easier and with maturity can accept easier sps. That's my current tank setup atm. Easy to upkeep and sustainable. After a while once it stabilizes , some reefers don't even do water changes at all. Maybe 10% every 6 mths just for the fun of it.

Wow ur rbta exploded. Mine was like 2 split to 8. But it took like a year. Care to share how fast it split or that cluster is just like how many? It's huuuge. U feed it?

Put some into ur sump too. Some eggs may float into the main tank to spawn as well.

You won't be able to feed her enough if ur tank isn't generating pods. Usually need to seed at least a 2 feet with lots of rocks for a few mths before putting in a small Mandarin. Suggest just let her go or like the other suggestion try sea monkeys till the tank is well seeded. To seed buy live copepods or tigger pods and syringe them into the sand under ur rocks.Just got a mandarin and realised she only eat pods.Any bro got the above to spare? I’m staying at Sengkang so preferably someone stay nearby if possible.
Thanks

Sea doesn't have high nitrates so keeping low nitrates is actually more accurately representing the natural environment. Thereafter it'll depend on whether the coral can get enough ` food` from just photosynthesis. Rest of the requirements r trace elements. If dosing food actually seems better then prob the corals on hand prefer clean water.

Usually about 1. Can't be zero cos nitrates r always being produced.

I think live stock compatibility and difficulty level is the important topic. After the tank runs in throw up what u feel like putting into the tank here for some advice. Everyone will definitely be interested in helping to avoid potential sacrifices.

Just don't re use any sand in it. It'll be endless nitrates back to ur water.

Btw. Ur flow into the tank clashes with ur wave maker. It shld be side by side or behind one another to complement and `push` water for better flow rate. Id Tilt that left flow head to the right in line with ur wave maker.
