  1. Yup. Can see that its lurking around the other PBT... Honestly, I can't tell which is which. Both coloration looks good.
  2. Hi Patrick, Putting them in the same basket confirm "world war 3". Having said that, so long as yr tank is big enuf and have plenty of hiding place, there's also a chance that you may succeed if you intro both of them at the same time.
  3. Serious? I smashed a couple of those in my tank.
  4. Is that starfish is a chocochip?
  5. Carbon probably last only a month more or less. Phosphate removers usually last longer (depending on your phosphate levels). So, the likelihood of changing carbon is higher than changing phosphate removers. I won't put them together.
  6. do you have any recent pictures of the unit?
  7. Photoshop the images using auto-level. Should restore the white balance. If you're asking about the camera settings, maybe your brother use custom white balance, you may need to change that to "auto".
  8. depending on which side of the coin you're looking at. there are reefers here that uses sulphur based denitration with excellent results.
  9. Is that an At-man pump? If I'm right why is it needlewheel? U'd changed the impeller? Btw u got a pair of good hands.
  10. i dun have any pics on them but u shld see them soon when the polyps aren't opening anymore...
  11. hi jervismun, i can feel yr passion in the hobby! haa anyway, just to share, my purchase of clove polyps have never failed to come with nudibranch pests. They hide in dead/half dead clove polyps and multiply at an amazing rate. You may like to monitor yrs closely yeah? and, dipping them in concentrated iodine separately helps. keep posting...
  12. my tank was transported by sgbros and my experience was quite hassle free. IMO they do a good job. its reasonable to dismantle the pipes... how on earth do you transport a tank if you leave the overflow pipes to the sump attached?
  13. Qxnviolet, Go for the best one u that you can afford. UV can't really "leak", so overrated is safe. Try not to switch on the UV at intervals... it'll just reduce the life-span of the tube.
  14. No other way. Without going fishless, there are bound to be traces of ick left. Even if you don't see it, it just means that it's either at the dormant stage, or yr fishes had already gain some immunity from them. You could probably reduce the "concentration" by using UV or ozone. Just my opinions.
  15. Here's mine. My solar got this orange hue on the head compared to those seen at SL. i wonder if its ###### had changed since I purchased it?
  16. got mine from aquamart too. managed to reduce my nitrates from 100 to 25 over 4-5 months. ps. i only change filters fortnightly, sometimes once every 3 weeks! water change around once a month.
  17. Thats a galaxia. You may like to isolate it from yr zoos as the feeding tentacles can be rather long... and they sting! Nice looking tank.
  18. Quote from reefkeeping... "Their small size belies their importance at helping us with our aquarium maintenance." Seems harmless...
  19. Use carbon. Should clear in a few days time.
  20. Iodide and calcium affect coloration? Imho i don't think so. Lighting, yes... visually it may improve since the color temperature alters our color perception. I still think that generally, we are not able to provide the kind of nutrition that they can receive in the wild, which probably explains why after a long period of time, the color fades.
  21. Amazing! Ping: Just curious, hows the condition of the fishes? (i.e. coloration, sickness, etc?)
