  1. Try telling those Indonesian fisherman to stop "harvesting" corals. Try banning cyanide from being used for catching fishes around the world. Put a stop to cyanide fishing activities. Its bad the the LS right? Lets stop the sources from the LFS? Its a vicious cycle, BH. Nevertheless, I do encourage you to do what you think is right. Just that my "right" and yr "right" may be different... To stop LFS from killing anything would mean to put them out of business.
  2. Please lah! As if the LFS will listen! "If you are a good person, ban that LFS" would be more effective.
  3. I remembered KTLK and Monsterz1975 used the Denitrator 1000 for their setup. Perhaps you can PM them for their comments?
  4. Maxstar81, haha... Mine up car liao when i migrated my tank, so no prob lah. I target feed this guy with Sera plankton pills occasionally (dunno why it likes the pill a lot). You may like to give it a try? Anyway, my experience with this guy is quite good. My sixline used to sleep in a very exposed "cave" just beside it... The lobster did not even bothered the sixline wrasse at all. So, IMO, quite safe lah. Dun worry too much about it. But there was a period of time where I was away from home and the water parameters went haywire. My lobster turned blind (both eyes gone ). So, watch yr params carefully.
  5. Nocturnal feeder, only comes out at night. Looks dangerous at times when a fish swims near, but harmless... Fierce front only. Just to share, its one of those creatures I'd bought and never got to see them most of the time.
  6. Hi Houndster, Check out here for more garden eel details... I'd kept 1 for around 1/2 a year and they are reef safe. They do not topple rockworks since most of the time their bodies are buried, leaving 1 to 5cm of their head exposed from the sand. Extremely shy, and near impossible to target feed, since they only take a bite on food that passes them when water circulates. However, very interesting to watch, esp when its trying to get food and other fishes comes along, they cannot decide to hide or go for it... I used to keep it in my 2ft before I upgraded to a 4ft. The feeling is damn eeky when trying to grab them with my hands. You should have thick substrate for them to burrow. Try feeding them with cyclops for a start, sometimes zooplanktons for a change. Over time mine got feeding with brines and mysis, eventually, flakes & pellets. Beef up ur copepod population, it helps too. If you ever get one, when you release, try to release them in areas that are very exposed and pray that they burrow there... otherwise u can forget about seeing them for a very very long time... Cheers!
