  11. do you have sump, and what is your height and width of your tank? it depends on your total water volume. 1/4 will works but a compressor will be better.

  13. 1. Hydra52 HD (white) x3, used for 11 months. letting go @ $600 each. 2. customised light stand from prestech @ $80. it is 4 ft long and i placed the stand on top of the euro bracing of my tank. interested pm me or WhatsApp @ 83284194
  14. hi - if you are using normal house aircon compressor (i assume it is an inverter) then it will not work for fish tank with external temperature controller. you will need a non-inverter compressor. additionally i would suggest 1.5hp for 6ft tank. do you have sump as well? you will need to add in the total volume of water to be cooled. this distance between compressor and tank will make a difference in how long the compressor will run to cool the tank, but in general it will work.
  15. from the shell it looks like cone snails. just did a quick read they are deadly/poisonous
  16. hi - i'm on triton method and i can give a few tips based on my experience. refugium 10-20% of display. (i'm sure u know already) i have my Marine Pure in the refugium area. you can also have liverock in refugium from ICP test - you might see high Si and Al, as siporax could leech Si, and MP leeches Al. refugium water flow from top to skimmer compartment water flow below from skimmer to return pump (to maximize contact area of skimmer with water - protein floats) coil i put directly below the weir/comb so the water flowing down from refugium -> skimmer compartment create higher flow i find too many MP could be too effective in reducing NO3 and might cause a problem for you to grow macroalgae. if me i will not use too many MP. (my opinion) Po4 i only use as and when i see the trend of PO4 rising. if algae is growing healthily u will find very low reading of Po4 and No3. triton recommends full spectrum refugium light to grow all kind of macroalgae. i started with kessil h80 but later added another led white light for refugium. refugium i have chaeto, caulerpa racemosa, red bamboo and red grape. initially chaeto is growing well but now is dying off and racemosa took over. i use carbon in filterbag once a while - (maybe once a month for 3-4 days?)
  17. All sold. Thanks @MODERATOR#1 please close thread
  18. 1. turquoise bird nest - big colony (bigger than fist. palm size) - 40 collection/view - tanjong rhu
  19. did you try using acclimation box? it is normal for established tang to be aggressive to new tang (as they go for the same food source - algae) but this should subside after a few days.
  20. hi - here's my opinion. 1. understand that this is normal. all new tank will experience the same progression. you can let it run it course and it will pass. and your tank is really really new. 2. the brown algae is probably diatoms. (not dino). it is due to silicate from the sand. once it is used up it will disappear. 3. previously you don't see the algae is because light is the limiting factor. now with stronger light algae is able to use it to grow. 4. this also means you probably have excess no3 and po4. could you let us know your reading of no3/po4? 5. share with us what is your filtration method. 6. lastly, i will reduce the red and green light to 0%. coral doesn't need it to grow. and the white light spectrum will cover the spectrum of red and green already. some say red and green promote algae growth.
  21. you can get isocket from their website. www.isocket3g.com. select the one for UK to be compatible with our sg socket. for temp probe it is additional you have to get the temperature sensor pro which is used for fish tank. alternative you can use the china caperplus. buy from taobao. they have the new version which comes with temperature and PH probe.
