Maybe it is not hungry. They don’t need to be fed very often. I feed mine twice a week, any more and it will just take the food and leave it outside his house like yours. You’re intending to keep more than one mantis in the same tank? I think that is tragedy waiting to happen.. Even if your tank is really huge, there’s still a chance they’ll get into a fight and you might lose one. Feeding wise, a variety of foods is best. I give my peacock pieces of prawn, clams with the shell on and small live crab. Can get those from supermarket cheap. Sometimes will soak the prawn in Selcon too. Just give it time to acclimatize to its new environment. They are very hardy and should be able to tahan some salinity swings. Make sure to provide a pvc pipe or someplace for them to hide and feel safe. Mine is hidden in his pipe most of the time just occasionally peeking his head out. The brand I use is red star fish. Hangs directly onto the glass, maybe you can google it for a better idea. The way it works is almost the same as an inverted bottle. My 2L canister lasts about a week and a half for a 2ft tank. If you don’t wanna invest in chiller now maybe can just get a fan first and start with hardier corals. The ATO will help with the insane evaporation. Tho I do agree with the others that chiller is the way to go if you want nice corals. For the evaporation you can get an ATO. I’m using a gravity fed canister that you hang on the back of the tank. It does look a bit messy but the amount of work you save is SO worth it. Plus it will be more stable than manually topping up everyday. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

Use API Furan-2 powder. Mix in one packet per cup of saltwater, soak affected zoas for 20mins, rinse with clean saltwater and return to tank. Soak again for consecutive 3 days. If it doesn’t get better after 3 days, let zoa rest for one week before trying Furan treatment again. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

I bought this random cheap pump from Qoo10. JBA brand. Originally wanted to just use it to mix salt but it worked better than I expected[emoji23] My suggestion is to upgrade to a stronger pump and use with the spin stream nozzle. Note that the spin stream will reduce the flow a bit but I really like the movement. If you are not keeping SPS then you won’t need too high flow ba, just upgrading the pump would be sufficient. I have a wave maker in my tank to have higher flow for my RBTA. After adding it I feel my other corals happier also. OP suggested to detach the suction cups so the pump is no longer stuck to the glass. You can try see if this helps you! I have an IM 20 with a noisy return pump too but I could not find a solution to the noise. Ended up changing to another pump and now it’s silent. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
