My tanks is quite big. Together with sump is 600L. I saw 5ft tank very loaded with SPS in one store supported by Kalk only

As I mention in my first post my pH quite stable and quite high 8.3 and I don’t looking to increase it. Really I want to stabilise alkalinity and calcium because my alkalinity is always goes to 7.5 and Ca otherwise jumps over 1500. Manual dosing I did until now with powder supplements but for Kalk I have dosing reactor and will set small amount of solution during whole day. I just didn’t Desiderio the right quantity yet. I think start with small amounts and than depends on the test results. I got Kalk+2 and will use it for the moment but Carbocalcium might be a good option as well. Thanks for advice

Unfortunately my parameters are not stable how I would like. Only pH reading is stable but Kh, Ca and Mg are jumping up and down. For the moment I’m dosing manually and really unhappy with result. Dosing Kalk is one of the option to stabilise the parameters. Regarding the pH I don’t want to rase it, otherwise I’m worry that is not goes too high. How to check CO2 level? Hello reefers, Anyone have experience with Kalk dosing? Apparently is using to keep stable Ca, Ak, Mg and keep or rise pH. But my pH is very stable. The meter (Milwaukee MC122) always shows 8.3 (the lowest I saw 8.1) The question is if I start dosing Kalk+2 will my pH rise too much?

Hi. You should check what temperature chiller starts and stops. If it the same as said previous message than check your water flow. Check if the water temperature in the DP is coincide with what shown on chiller display as well

I built my reef tank almost 5 years (or no time, or no wishes, or no money, etc.) and finally soon will be ready to start it and as much I red the forum and watch YouTubeI couldn’t find answers to my questions. Hope someone can help me. 1. Salt water density. Everywhere can find suggestions to keep water density 1.024 - 1.027 with temperature 25ºC but if I mix salt water in normal Singaporean ambient 28-32ºC what density should be? 2. Regarding salt mixing. If my system together with sump is about 600L and I have storage space for about 200L. I have to fill my system about a week or maybe I can mix salt in the tank directly? 3. I red suggestions that during cycling no need to run chiller and light but I din’t find much information if I need to run skimmer. Any suggestion? 4. Do I need to do any water changes during cycling? Some reefers said yes small amounts once a week, others said no, just change 50% at the end of the cycling 5. Can I use cheato during cycling? 6. What about UV steriliser?
