  6. I'm using Salifert PO4 Test Kit and most time I have difficulty reading 0.1 - 0.03. I'm trying out Dr Tim Waste Away Gel currently and will see how it go first. (1st day of use it caused my PH to drop from 8.2 to 7.7 and almost killing my fish)
  7. Most of the time I uses those Diaso Magic foam to clean the tank 'Glass' surface. Just don't scrub too hard. The Acrylic is quite impervious to scratch if done carefully.
  8. Day 217 (10/8/20) Currently still battling algae growth especially Hair Algae: been manually removing as much has possible during water change, reduce feeds, increase better filter media and reduce lighting duration. Recommend to try Dr Tim Waste Away Gel and so I did and today used 1 Pack of the 30 days Gel to try. Will update status. Photos attached.
  9. Day 216 (9/8/20) Expenses: Equipment ($500); Fish & Invert ($120); Corals ($833); Maintenance ($165) -> Power Used ~ 32W Water Test (Ave) PH (8.2); NH3 (0); NO2 (0); NO3 (5); PO4 (<0.1); Temp (28.5); Salinity (1.023) My tank status as of 9/8/20 with the addition of Neon Green Candy Cane 2 Heads. Still looking for solution to reduce hair algae, green and brown algae.
  10. Day 209 (2/8/20) Water Test : PH (8.2); NH3 (0); NO2 (0); NO3 (<2); PO4 (<0.1); Temp (29.0); Salinity (1.022) Did Water Test today just before my weekly water change (around 30%) and was quite surprised the result was better than a few days ago. Maybe due to the addition of Dymax Bio Max Filter (in addition of Activated Charcoal). May also try the new Chemi-pure Nano ($5) media to further enhance the water quality. Typically my maintenance schedule include clearing algae (from glass & sand bed) every other days (about 15 mins) & weekly water change + cleanup (about 2hrs)
  11. Sure; what else (not too expensive)can I put in my small overflow compartment to drastically reduce and control nutrients?
  12. I will try to switch on my aircon (on Dry mode mostly) as far as possible if I'm in working in the room. Typical temperature without aircon range from 27-30 during this time. Increased in my tank hair algae probably due to the higher temperature as well.
  13. No more fishes for me, may be frag of soft corals. My clownfish are getting larger each day and may have to let go next time.
  14. Day 208 (1/8/20) Expenses: Equipment ($436); Fish & Invert ($113); Corals ($460); Maintenance ($50) -> Power Used ~ 32W Water Test (Ave) PH (8.2); NH3 (0); NO2 (0); NO3 (25); PO4 (0.3-0.5); Temp (27.5); Salinity (1.022) My tank status as of today; will let it stabilise for a few more weeks before adding new livestocks. Still looking for solution to reduce hair algae, green and brown algae.
  15. Day 199-207 (23/7/20 - 31/7/20) To my surprised my RBTA started splitting on 25/7/20 and still not complete.
  16. Day 199-207 (23/7/20 - 31/7/20) Expenses: Equipment ($501); Fish & Invert ($121); Corals ($795); Maintenance ($99) -> Power Used ~ 46W Purchased a new 18W LED with more emphasis in the Blue wavelength. Also replacing a better Bio Media for the overflow filter. Managed to get a Seahare which supposedly can remove my current increase in Hair Algae. Seahare died a few days later. Stock more LPS & soft corals such as Ricordia, Kenya Tree and a Yellow Plate.
  17. Day 187-198 (11/7/20 - 22/7/20) Expenses: Equipment ($436); Fish & Invert ($113); Corals ($555); Maintenance ($69) -> Power Used ~ 32W Stock up more corals such as GSP (actually a back wall); Flame Clove & Pink Carnation (died after 1 week)
  18. Day 173-186 (27/6/20 - 10/7/20) Expenses: Equipment ($436); Fish & Invert ($113); Corals ($460); Maintenance ($50) -> Power Used ~ 32W Water Test (Ave) PH (8.2); NH3 (0.15); NO2 (0); NO3 (20); PO4 (0.5); Temp (27.5); Salinity (1.023) Feeling confident of the water quality and CB Phase 1, this time round I will limit my tank to only 2 clownfish and instead get more of soft corals and LPS. Managed to get some Zoas, mini Pulsing Xenia, GSP, Flame Clove and even a Stylos Frag (only last for 2 weeks) to try. Also got a Red Starfish (but it died after a week)
  19. Day 150-172 (1/5/20 - 26/6/20) Expenses: Equipment ($414); Fish & Invert ($103); Corals ($310); Maintenance ($32) -> Power Used ~ 32W As we were still in the CB period no additional livestock can be purchased hence these was the best time to let the tank water stabilised and matured. Since I had persistent brown and green algae problem some reefers suggested my salt mix should change from Tap water to Distilled water. Did a change and indeed i can observed mark improvement in the slowing of algae growth. However I still need to control the fish feeding frequency and re
