Hi, sharing my Reefing Journey to participant the "Stay Home, Stay Safe Reef At Home contest". I am start my fish keeping hobby since primary school by keeping longkang fish in Ovaltine glass container and it become a fever! I used to owned a 4 feet cichlid tank in living room, one 3 feet tanks keeping koi and lampang fishes and a 2 feet tanks outside my house, and a 4 feet silver arowana tank at roof top during secondary school. I forced to decom the other 3 tanks and keep the 4 feet cichlid tank only after leaving my house to study at another state, and decom the cichlid tank after working in Singapore. After I own my house in Sg, I start my first marine nano tank in 2016 because finally I got a place to continue this hobby. This is the 1st marine nano tank. It is a budget 45cmx30cmx30cm tank with a China brand slim filter, a Dolphin blue and white light and a fan only. Due to the small tank, I am using polyfilter as the main filter to maintain and water quality and do 10% water change weekly During that time, i kept only nemo, blue tank, damsel and anemone. Water evaporation is the main challenge to me because of using fan to cool down the water temp. This is my favorite clown fish. They are common, but they are very cute!

Ok,noted. Currently i am using brightwell biofuel, once finished then try nopox if my no3 still not going down.

Thanks R0B, now it is only left few caulepar and some hair algae inside the ATO. will remove them again if they grow and cover the caulerpa.

Noted on the caulerpa sexual issue, i only left few only. I throw almost all my cheato with hair algae away already, now left little caulepa and with hair algae.

Maybe you can try nitraguard titanium. It bring down my tank from 100 ppm(api test kit) to 25ppm now (max i can get and test with salifert). Api test kit show 0ppm thus i switching all my test kit to salifert.

Yes, my no3 lowest 25 to 50ppm and po4 0.5. I am using nitraguard titaniun n rowaphos, having mix reef tank I am using brightwell microbacteria n biofuel (daily 1ml) for a year but this is the lowest. Cannot keep meat coral like scoly n prata, always see skeleton then shrink and gg.

can still dose nopox if have cheato refugium?

Hi, I converted my red sea 250 ATO to grow cheato, having a pump to pump the water into the ATO and let the water flow out/overflow slowly, i have a par38 (white, red, blue) light. But i see the hair algae grow a lot faster than my cheato and caulerpa until covered them completely.

is it 0.5ppm consider high? I have some algae grow on my LPS like prata, scoly, lepto...and my tank if keeping 'meat' coral will see skeleton, my no3 is ~25-50ppm (having hard time to diff the color of the salifert no3 test kits)
