  1. irwana walt smith shipment coming this friday 11pm.. things left: some green sps.. green prata very nice frogspawn red monti.. green bubble assorted yumas left 1 maxima clam 3 giant clam... blue tangs yellow tangs small size...
  2. no harm to try it as long as it dosent affect your water parameters..
  3. do a search.....this topic have just been asked a few days ago.. http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=60389
  4. sufficient lightings...minimum T5 HOs if your tank is not too deep.. slow to medium flow..and preferably to place on a sandbed..
  5. will head down tmr and take a look.. thx... any update at irwana?
  6. every chiller will hav a built in thermomstat...once the chiller manage to chill the water to the desired temperature set by you. it will cut off the compressor... it has the same logic as a iron...
  7. it is correct if the chiller kicks in 24hrs....but in the case of having a oversize chiller, the chiller will kick in barely for half a day(total duration)... so its definitely cheaper then $29..
  8. anyone spotted nice coloration naso tang?....small size around 3inch..
  9. 1. ensure good parameters...calcium 400-440ppm...magnesium 1380.. 2. ensure sufficient flow within the tank.. 3. strong lightings.. 4. have longer lighting period for actinic/blue lights. best using T5 HO.. hope this helps..
  10. it is a hard coral.....if your tank dosent have an anemone, the clownfishes will gradually take the plate coral as an alternative....
  11. please resize ur pictures....too big already...
  12. just recieved the schuran jetskim 100 from bro hansreef... cannt hook it up now cos i gotta get some piping work done for the outlet on monday..
  13. hmmz.....temperature should not be above 33 i guess....but it shldnt be much of the temperature prob dude... try to minimize the no. of powerheads and observe....u can try to add some nitrifying bacteria into the water...it helps alot in cycling..
  14. 1. How did u cure the LRs??... 2. White fungus on LRs means the flow is slow, gotta increase the flow in the area.... 3. Check water parameters, did the water get too salty due to evaporation? HTH..
  15. no...its reef safe...cannt remember what brand is that...but its a small rectangular blue and red box.....
  16. okays...i checked already...rated 500l
  17. u can place it in a tub and try the red slime remover....it helps....
  18. wonder what is your next project... anyway...the grotech skimmer's performance is great and its still venturi driven... i will be getting my schuran from a reefer tmr....will sure observe the skimmate... now the thing is im nt sure of the flowrate.....sourced from the net, it stated there 1200lph.....but do u have any suggestions?..
  19. thx!... btw...anyone out there know what is the most suitable flowrate for the schuran jetskim 100?...
  20. hmmz....u gotta leave the coral inside for a few times for the fish to familiarise with the environment then he dare to go inside the trap.....u can try seaweed too... last resort...fish him out wif a very tiny hook?..
  21. since the yt do nib on the bamboo algae...it should be fine..continue to throw in pellets and observe for a few more days...you can try seaweed or lettuce...
  22. you can try placing the brain coral inside the trap and see whether the blue tang gets in?..
  23. firstly, u need to get a hydrometer. i recommend the brand "seatest"..quite accurate...or even better..u can get a refractometer for a more accurate reading... for me, i pour some salt into the pail and add in water from tap. stir awhile and measure, reading still not to optimum level, i will continue to pour the salt and stir the water till the salt salinity reading reaches the desired level at 1.024 for me. if u are really serious and decide to venture more into this hobby, u can get a DI filtration system to treat water from the tap for any impurities because tapwater have phosphate too... i use tropic marin salt now...must say it is a gd salt with good water parameters.. happy reefing...
  24. will be getting a schuran jetskim 100 from a fellow reefer here, jus wondering, what is the recommended flowrate intended for this skimmer?... cheers..
