I personally tried this and it works too. To add on, try to find a good healthy sample of coraline to help seed your tank. meaning to say, if your friend has coraline but it don't really grow much, don't use that sample. Find someone whose coraline sample is growing strong or forming the blade structures. Also keep MG above 1400. it helps.

Wow! it baffles me how you stack those rocks! anyway nice colourful fishes! hey with regards to the ich, i think its a standard when starting any FOWLR tank. focus on improving fish health and immunity through regular feeding. Possibly with garlic marinated food. In due time, once water condition stabilizes, the ich will go away.
