  5. I have to say .. 1st impressions are good for the lights at this price .. definitely worth Real quick summary to all this .. Pros Simple Lightweight Easy to set up (wifi made it uber easy) Obviously price Any which way you want setup Comparable lightings to MH Cons Brand new (longevity is unknown but comes with warranty ) Each unit is 12" and requires its own power supply .. so imagine if you have 4 units for a 6ft tank .. 4 power supplies lol Wires are unsightly ..
  6. Damn that was fast !! Ordered last friday .. got it today ! All items required to fit the lighting for hanging type.. Best part is .. this particular model comes with WiFi connect and a separate controller .. Everything now just sync with phone Casing is powder coated Al .. Acrylic type cover and probably .. package is securely packed and everything looks ok .. Unit is setup to run full auto ie 4 seasons with lunar cycle (yes I'm lazy.. I don't like to turn on the lights everyday or set a timer) As for lights itself ..
  7. Not sure if anyone uses this for their tanks .. Been using Aqua Lumen on mine for more than 5 years until recently where the controller died.. Not a cheap option so I started looking for one overseas Bought this .. if you guys are interested .. standby for a report on this then https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Programmable-2PCS-PopBloom-Aqua-Dimmable-LED-Aquarium-Lighting-Full-Spectrum-For-iluminacion-SPS-LPS-Marine-fish/32861972079.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.1e554c4doWYGXY

  12. It's quite painful for me to keep changing the media .. and I don't recall me changing it that frequently last time .. So now I'm asking what's the average duration so I can gauge if it's just me or it's the media .. Thanks guys

    Dimmable T5s

I'm using ATI 4 tube dimmables from AM .. I DIY my own dimiing timer though as there's nothing to control the dimming ballasts yet ..

    Remote DSB

Sorry .. don't think I have any more picts of the setup .. Setup if very simple .. fill the bucket with sand, then poke 2 holes about 2-3in above the sand level .. Attached the pipes to the bucket and then a pump to circulate the water from the tank to the bucket .. Use about 15-1800ltr/hr pump as flow rate is also very important .. Thats it .. I threw a couple of unwanted crabs into the sandbed to eat up any rubbish that got sucked in ..
