  1. Hi Junkai My friends farm is in Rayong. Not to far from Bangkok I guess. Brett
  2. I am not the breeder. It is a friend of mine. Not sure about profitability, but he is going ok with clowns, shrimp etc. He is working on angels and currently mandarins a new one, he has not bred many yet. Still working out the method. I think he is going to market them as tank bred and eating commercial foods. I will asking him to post when I am back in Bangkok. Any news from the supplier? Brett
  3. Good luck. Her name is Adelaide if I remember rightly. She was great to deal with until she realised I my friend is in Bangkok and running a business breeding clownfish, shrimp, mandarins and trying for angels. She was concerned we were going to use the culture to breed for resale Brett
  4. Hi FuEl Sorry for the late reply. I tried to get that company to send to me also. However, they said they needed me to post them a letter stating that the pods were for personal use and not resale. I emailed them for a postal address and they have never replied. Not all that impressed with the service from them. Have you contacted them and got them to agree to send them to you? If the will send to you, let me know. Brett
  5. Hi Does anyone know where I can get cultures of Parvocalanus crassirostris or other species in Singapore? Brett
  6. Hi Everyone Where can I get one of these cone skimmers in Singapore. Are there any shops selling them over the internet too? Brett
  7. Hi Everyone Is there anyone selling the ReeFlo Snapper Pump, 2400 GPH in Singapore? I am in Thailand and the only means to get one to me that I have found is from the USA. I have looked online but not seen the Snapper being sold in Singapore. Brett
  8. Hi Everyone I am getting 5/8 inch glass cut and the edges bevelled/polished like an elos tank for my new rimless tank. It's finally about to happen. A friend overseas has told me that this process can take up to 3 millimeters off the glass size. Is this true? I am concerned as I dont want the glass to arrive from the factory and be the wrong size. I'd appreciate any input on this. Many thanks Brett
  9. Hi Everyone I am FINALLY getting my tank made! They dont know a lot about rimless tanks here in Bangkok, so I have had to do most of the design work. Here are the measurements. I have used the rimless tank calculator on from this link http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/diy/5729...calculator.html Measurements are 1200mm x 750mm (W) x 700mm (H) - (48 Inch x 30in x 28in). Base is in 19mm normal float glass and sides in 15mm Diamant. The base will be eurobraced as in this picture. The overflow (external) will be cut 65mm (2.5 in) lower than the rim to allow for water movement from the two Vortechs. The author of the rimless tank calculator program says it is "based on "How to Calculate the Glass Thickness for your Aquarium" by Warren Stillwell. http://www.fnzas.org.nz/articles/tec...lass_complete/ The program says the side deflection should be .35mm and with a safety factor of 4.36. Base deflection should be .33mm with a safety factor of 3.82 The tank will have a 10cm deep sand bed. Not sure if this makes any difference to things. Please let me know what you think. I originally thought to go with 19mm for the sides/front/back, but cost has ruled it out. Brett
  10. Sorry, that was the end of that thread. Here is the start http://www.masa.asn.au/phpBB2/viewtopic.ph...asc&start=0
  11. Check out this thread. The tank owner kept this skimmerless reef running for several years with infrequent water changes before shutting it down - not due to problems. He is setting up a new system. http://www.masa.asn.au/phpBB2/viewtopic.ph...d57d1fb67ac451f Brett
  12. I am just curious. How much would you pay in Singapore for a tank 130cm x 75cm x 75cm in 19mm normal float glass with overflow.. I have decided to go with that size tank. I am just curious what you would pay though in SG. I have been quoted 45,000 Baht here in Bangkok by several tank makers - about 2000 Singapore dollars. I think its a bit of a rip off as I checked the price of Diamant glass and even if I supplied all the glass for the whole tank in Diamant, it would only cost 1363 Singapore dollars for the glass. Given that normal float is not going to be near as expensive as Diamant, I think it is a bit rich. 3 years ago I had a 120cm x 60 x 60 tank made in 12mm glass for 396 Singapore Dollars. I might have to make it myself ###### Brett
  13. I am not taking any risk. I will use 15mm glass at the minimum. I am only using it at the front and sides and I have a good price here.
  14. Hi Everyone I am setting up a 130x80x80cm tank using low iron glass. I am unsure if I will go with standard or eurobracing. What thickness of glass would be safe for this size tank. A friend said 15mm glass with full standard bracing on the top and base of the tank be strong enoungh. He recommended 19mm glass if I want to use eurobracing. I'd appreciate any input you can give. Brett
  15. As far as I can see from that forum, they are not on the shelves yet. Only in production. I am wondering when they will hit the shelves too. Maybee a Seio stockist can enlighten us I was thinking about a closed loop with an ocean motions 4 way for my new tank, but this would be cheaper, easier to plumb and no need for a seperate pump. I hope they are good quality if they are released after all. It has been 4 years since the talk started and still nothing. I hope that if TAAM say it is being manufactured and to be out soon, it will be! Brett
