  5. Hi, I just got the aforementioned set from a fellow reefer. I am letting it go because I can't mount it on my nano due to the design constraints. Willing to let it off at $140, slightly negotiable. Condition 5-6/10, driver and leds are in working condition. Please PM me your details, and I will get back to you. Thanks.
  6. Dear all, I am looking for the aforementioned in good condition for my nano (JBJ 28G). Please PM your offers and I will get back to you. Most importantly the driver unit has to be reliable. Will appreciate any other advice as well. Thanks
  7. Domvonn, agree with your POV. Anyone running GAC in their tanks? Or DI and GAC combination? Would like to know what is the long term effect on reef chemistry. In the whole RO/DI setup, I believe I can get away with 2 stages of charcoal and 1 stage DI resin- charcoal filter -> GAC -> DI Resin. Any advise on such a set up?
  8. I am using a canister filter for my JBJ 28G. I lay off reefing for a few years and got back in recently. I definitely agree with the others that running a sump is a better way of managing your reef. I ran the canister filter as a fuss-free option with the JBJ. Using mostly rocks and bio-home, I can stock a little more corals and dampen any nitrate and ammonia spike together with over skimming through the MCE 600. In a home setting, what is important is reliability and peace of mind IMO. I ever used an overflow pipe in my previous setup, and was shocked to wake up one fine morning with the floor flooded.
  9. Thanks for all the input. For my purpose, buying bottled water is sufficient. Any latest feedback on Arees services? I've looked up on the thread but can't find the cost for delivery and water.
  10. Hi all, am intending to move to LED. Do let me know if you have one for sale. Thanks!
  11. Thanks for the replies. I'm actually considering the total cost of ownership: RO membrane, DI resin, carbon etc. there's rejection rate for RO as well. Thus I'm thinking if GAC and DI resin is sufficient.
  12. Hi, I'd like to ask around for advice on water quality. Is it more cost efficient to go with distilled water? How effective and economical is RO/DI unit in the long run? Because I am keeping a nano- 28G, I was thinking of using a nano GAC/DI resin unit from Madpetzl. Is this advisable? I do intend to upgrade sometime at the end of the year to a shallow 2ft cube. Thanks!
  13. I am considering the 5 led 20000k or Tricolor PAR38 from Dr. Evil/ Madpetz.
  14. Hi, Need some advise regarding lighting. Mainly keeping LPS and soft corals. My current lighting is a MH 150W, 200000k- kinda overkill but I like the shimmering effect, and so far my green bubble and frogspawn responds very well to it. I am thinking of using 1 PAR38 Led for my JBJ 28G, would like to know if this is sufficient. Thanks!
  15. Hi, I'm looking for the aforementioned. Thanks!
