  4. I see. What should be the priority during power outtage? The return pumps or the wavemakers? Should I add an airstone to the tank? Thinking if I should go Sim Lim and get one of those below $200 1100VA computer UPS.. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  5. Do you have a pic of the pump and where can get? Like clementi 328 have? This is to pump from sump to DT? Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  6. There will be a temporary power shut down at my block for some rewiring works. The notice says 9am to 5pm. What should I do to prepare for this? I don't have UPS and won't be at home when this happens. My contains some fishes, LPS and softies and a few RBTA.
  7. One guy at reefcentral says the bacteria feeding on carbon will out compete the sulphur feeding bacteria so dosing carbon will interfere with sulphur denitrator. Don't know true or not but I temporarily stopped dosing the AF probiotics solutions, removed the nitra guard cubes and turned down the flow of the biopellet reactor. ORP of sulphur reactor had hovered between -10 to -60 for the past week, still far off from the -180 "sweet spot". I'm already at approx 1 drop per second so don't know what to do, other than just wait and see if the reactor starts functioning by itself. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  8. I had since moved the reactor into the sump. It is still not working. NO3 of effluent is still red, same as the input, on both salifert and red sea test kits. Tried using AF Pro Bio S together with NP pro and it seems to make it worst. ORP moved to and stayed positive. Have now stopped dosing the AF solutions and left the reactor alone. Tried almost everything but can't bring NO3 down. Chaeto reactor, biopellet reactor, nitra guard bio cube, AF probiotic... Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  9. Thought this meter can only be used for fresh water. How's the readings in comparison to regular test kits? Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  10. Which energy reseller did you sign up with? My tank adds over $100 per month on electricity. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  11. I am using a Skimz CM152 calcium reactor as a sulphur denitrator. The unit is placed inside the cabinet beside the sump. Have just started running the reactor for a day and noticed that unit gets rather warm. Main body is warm to touch. Is this normal? Do I need to point a fan or something to the recirculating pump? Running effluent at one drop a second per instructions. The orp meter is currently already reading below -200mv. Should I increase flow or wait another 2 days as outlined in the instructions? Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  12. Found my sea hare curled up to a small ball and some blue tube like substance beside it. Is simmering wrong? Should I remove the area hare? It is in the tank for 2 weeks.. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

  14. Where can I get the parts to assemble a filter like this. I have lots of suspended particles in the DT abs can't seems to get rid of them. Tried using Ehiem pickup internal filter but it is not really effective. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  15. I am planing to restart my tank with small fishes and is giving away my large Tang fish (not sure which specie) for adoption. Brown/Blackish colour. He is over 5 inches and pretty aggressive so would need a big tank. Feeding on frozen mysis and brine only. Collection in CCK. Reefer will have to bring your own container and catch him yourself (I failed to trap him so far). Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

  19. My old skimmer's pump died again so I guess it is time to replace the skimmer. My tank is 4ft X 2ft X 2.5ft. Is a Deltec SC1455 sufficient for my tank? Keeping mostly fishes only (corals put inside keep dying after some time ). The next Deltec skimmer after SC1455 seems to be SC2060 but it is over twice the price of a SC1455.
  20. Hi, The controller of my 3 year old eco-lamp is totally screwed. Randomly switches between auto and manual and and timer not working, All control buttons are not working as well. Anyone knows where I can repair the eco-lamp in Singapore? Maybe bypass the controller completely and on full blast when turned on. Quite a waste to throw away the entire unit because of faulty controller. Thank you
