yes.. more flow means less dead spot, provided u direct them correctly. as for the italics, i think a higher flow return pump will result in higher turnover. Mere flow from wavemakers will not increase any turnover of water to ur sump

i'm having 12mm for my 6.3'x3'x2.5'... it is holding just fine. However, i hv full eurobrace for top and bottom of the tank. For ur size, 12mm is fine. My previous tank of 4x2.5x2.5 is also using 12mm and without any eurobrace too...
