  1. not enuff (since nobody else answered)
  2. What about Ca, Alkalinity and those stuff?
  3. Mixed brine shrimp and cyclop-eeze, one feeding every two days for fish and LPS in 2ft tank. Brain, sun, and candy cane I target feed. One cube brine shrimp + 1 small spoon cyclop lasts three feedings.

    Aquaz T5

Anybody have used Aquaz T5 HO tubes long enough to be able to give a review? Please share. Thanks.
  5. That's normal. My yellow wrasse hid in the sand for two weeks (he may have come out at night, I don't know) after being intoduced into the tank. After that he's OK. Only goes back into the sand to sleep.
  6. If you can still see the flesh, I suggest you wait and see. If your tank is 4ft and above, it will not contribute much to ammonia if the brain died. If only a small, tiny speck of flesh is left, then it is at the end of the road. I also suggest you do other things like water change, or try running carbon.
  7. Open brains will not expand if animals nip at it. Soft corals are toxic, put it far away from any soft corals. Most corals have the ability to sting, so make sure each coral has their own space, taking into account when they expand. If you can see the white skeleton all over the body, then cross your fingers and hope it'll recover.
  8. How long have you had that birdnest on the right of the tank (that is turning white)? Is it dying? Good luck.
  9. What is your Ca and kH level like?
  10. Bro tineng, You have 6 clams in a 2 feet tank? What kind of lighting are you using bro? And what kind of clams and how long have you been keeping them? Sorry for the questions. Just interested to know your setup, if bro [JS] doesn't mind .
  11. It's the tang/angel's nature to nip at things. That's what they do. Mine use to nip at corals, but after a while it stops after he's satisfied they are not food
  12. You can put them anywhere you like, but sun coral seem to like high water flow area. It should also be a place where it is easy for you to feed them. Lighting does not matter at all, they don't mind either way . Food can be brine shrimp, DT, cyclopeeze etc, even slivers of market shrimp/fish.
  13. The short answer to whether kalkwasser can be used to boost Ca level is YES, however as a forumer indicated previously (i forgot who), this will lead to high tank pH due to high pH of kalk solution. That is why RHF suggests using calcium chloride to boost Ca since there would be no or minimal rise in pH. Kalkwasser is normally dosed by dripping, that is why it is more suitable for "maintaining" Ca level, although in fact it does supply Ca to the tank, albeit slowly.
  14. Kalkwasser is calcium hydroxide kH buffer is sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)
  15. Congrats AT! Hugeee mileage for SGReefcllub.
  16. My yellow wrasse hid in the sand for two weeks. I thought it was dead but one day out of the blue he came out. I'm guessing he came out when nobody is around the tank and eat whatever is available in the tank coz he was not around during feeding time. Now he's good buddies with the other fishes.
  17. I like the stand you made for the MH. Very cool and innovative (can't say that for the chihuahua though ). Are you keeping the tank in an air conditioned room or something, coz it's not possible for the water to reach 25oC just by evaporative cooling. A more realistic temp would be 27-28oC depending on humidity.
  18. Very clean tank. I like the look. But just too many fish (tang, dory) in such a small space to be comfortable IMO.
  19. Are you referring to the rock on top half of the photo? If you are, it may be porites (can't quite see christmas tree worms though).
  20. That's a Goniopora all right. Nice tank. I absolutely love the frogspawn/octopus coral. A small frag costs RM80 over here (cheap for somebody, expensive for me). Good job!
  21. Another useful article by Anthony Calfo, Bob Fenner, and Steven Pro. Giant Clams, Family Tridacnae
  22. Octopus, How does this mini chiller works? Without compressor/refrigerant? Thanks
  23. Holes or caves will help the firefish settle down quicker. Mine in a 2ft took 1 month to calm down. He has a clarkii and a bicolor angel (a mistake, I know) as tankmates. No problems. And I dont have a tank cover.
