  1. hahaha...thanks. i have seen alot of tanks out there. and each are of diff. styles... diff. environment... even my setup is diy so cannot find other places... guess that everyone has their choice and preference. I can see that many of u are interested in keeping an idol in a reef tank. good luck with it. may one day all idol be reef-safe..hahaha. all angels too..cheers.and all butterflies...
  2. hahaha...thanks for all the help la...i think was too busy handling with the tank setup thats why the tangs died... now having two other tangs...both doing very well and active. think those previous tangs died due to lack of care. think that when i was playing with the water and system, caused some unnecessary stress in them. thanks for all the help. much appreciated.
  3. hey, u wan sand ar ? i got one bucket...sell u ba...come and collect in tampines.
  4. i get them at ten dollars for ten kg.... ya true...cannot keep sand dollar when there is no sand..hahah. sand goby...mandarin... but i got a pellet train mandarin so it's okay... for the start it's better to get a DSB or at least a sand bed... without one...there is alot of complications... for a new starter...work into having a sandbed which will be more stable in long run. good luck...and look for coral sand or aragonite sand... dun go and buy the wrong freshwater sand. hahaha...then it's bad... becos wrong substrate may contain diff. contents...like silicate and phos...so be careful.
  5. not a must... just a choice...but u will need live rocks if no sand at all. my tank only have some puddle of sand...
  6. it came in the red sea shipment... not sure if it's yellow belly cos it keep on hiding...very shy now... will try to tok to it and ask him when he feels better. saw a red sea anemone...a pink rose anemone too. anyone wants it ? going to get some stuffs on thrusday. will get it for myself if nobody interested then will share with u guys... very nice pink anemone...it's all pink...anyone saw a pink anemone before ? hehe...
  7. sit on the sand ? ur zoo not attach to live rocks ? better to eproxy or put on live rock becos they will attach to it... if u place it on sand, it wun attach on the sand. it wun die or wat...will be fine but just wun attach only... placement of corals depends on current, lighting and the neighbours... sand or rock...as long as it gets enough light and not too much current.

  9. ops..hopefully i didn't offend u... sorry if i did... good water parameter doesn't equal to good environment at all.. good water parameter only equals to good air quality in human terms... like wat u say that if u are move into a new environment... good water parameter only means good air quality... it's like moving from the mountains into the city.. in a enclosed room of good air filter.. but how abt ur tenants ? ur food ? the layout of the room ? ur toilet ? ur entertainment ? blah blah blah... this is wat we called an environment... dear reefers, good water parameter is only one part of a good environment.. it's does not equal to good environment. Alot of ppl made this mistake into believing they are equal. I hope that everyone can remember this. dun overlook it...thnks.
  10. got this gem of my own..so just wanna share some pic with u guys. anyone got any unique tang can share ? and the yellow belly blue tang, seen it before ? and the crown is like that 24/7 not that it's agitated. the crown is yellow at the tips. very unique and special... just sharing here la...nothing much.. thanks.
  11. very nice coral instead. so nice yet hard to find in singapore or in dealing...can u know why ? Palythoa Grandis or u called it Palythoa TOXICA. It's potentially fatally poisonous...:S it's the most fatal coral...cheers for that. handle it with gloves pls... one of the most fatal organic poison. just for ur inform in case u wonder why not much is cover on it and not much ppl sell or keep it. have fun. they are nice, i keep to keep them but will considered on that since handling is must be cautious. good luck. i think did i saw them around before...cannot remember..
  12. hahaha...sad case for u then. BT eating coral really sad case man...i mean that to see ur corals kena bitten by something which is proclaim as reef-safe. pity u.... back to the topic...that's why i say that it takes some patience and observation for MI. but again...althought it's true that the character and behaviour can change in an enclosed environment but u must know this... if u are taken into a better environment, will ur character or behaviour change for better ? of cos... and if u are taken into a worse or the worst environment, ppl in rural country even eat tree barks... so the cause of ur BT can be caused by many factor...wat i think is most likely by negative factors. eating something not within ur diet is not a good sign esp for animals... it's like an elephant eating meat... hope u understand. or maybe BT tot brain coral is chewing gum...hahaha...we dun know wat they are thinking so that's why observation is the most important factor in zoological studies. hope that i dun offend u..but just that if ur MI now is having problem, dun think the environment is any better for that BT.... GOOD LUCK...that's why expert level fish is not suitable for anyone who dun have the time to do the observation and maintance...if u choose to get the fish, then u are responsible for it.
  13. iodine i mean...hahaa...hey bro, pm u. check it out.
  14. hahhaha...that's why i say that it depends if u are into the hobby or not... to me, i feel that it's a beauty becos of the black. it looks abit like mr bean too...hahah..the nose.. marine fish can't compare to arowana becos lack of grading system... even that marine fish always gives ppl an idea that it's expensive..but compare prices of fishes to arowana...surely it's low... but one thing abt black tang and arowana is that... black tang..even if u have the money, u may not even get the fish.
  15. elephant ear is toxic too...there are reported deaths of ingestion... u can still keep leather la...just be careful with it.. not that scary as mention... there are purple and red leathers around for ur info... nice...
  16. u wan turbo snail ? i can get for u....i have 6 of them... how many u need ? pm me or sms me 81968903 for fast deal. thx.
  17. black tang is very expensive. it's like black rose in the sea... capturing it is hard becos it normally lives alone not in school. unlike other tangs so it's hard to find and that's why the price is high... but i dun think it's worth it if u are not really into it... buying a black black fish for that kinda price... think ur kids and wife will look at u and ask...dad, how much u buy that black fish ? hahaha..
  18. hahahaha.. not reef-safe ? that's wat it's documented... but know a guy who keep his idol in 6ft with a few corals...for like 9 months. hahaha. can be done one. just need more patience and observation on it... if u have one which is feeding, then more easy la. but still need to really train it to feed on frozen food and dry food so that it can leave corals alone.. just keep trying..most case is caused by lack of supervision and observation.. that's why it marks some fishes as expert level. cheers. all the best.
  19. Fish died before i manage to collect it...Rest in peace..
  20. hhahaha..coral chips are coral chips..not sand...they are skeletons of corals... hmmm...white in color and bigger in sizer than sand...alot bigger... just go to google and search for coral chips...and u can see wat is it.
  21. depends on ur need...some ppl prefer fine sand...very seldom ppl use only coral chips as substrate... wat u need to tell wat u using it for ? refugium ? or main tank ? wat kinda tank u planning ? and sand have different grades too. if u plan for LPS and mandarin, u need fine sand... actually i prefer fine sand...cos it can trap and collect debris and dirt...then ur cleaning crew can work on it..like ur goby, blenny, mandarin , star...blah blah blah.
  22. thanks....the price also very nice..hahah...for 5 kg...$20 for one kg..hahaha... :S thinking of other methods now..thanks.
  23. take out the cleaner then...it wun get infected if no wounds...feeder will grow back during molting...feel it with brineshrimp... for now, just take out ur cleaner first...waiut until ur boxer find it's territory for sometime.. then u try to add in cleaner in another territory when ur lights are off...
