FOWLR with hyposalinity and Harlequin Shrimps / Star Fishes

Recommended Posts

Dear All Bros,

Does a hyposalinity tank at 1.010 kill the Harlequin Shrimps and star fishes? Thinking of converting to a hypo FOWLR and rearing angels and tangs together.......but not selling away my harlequin shrimps.........

Hpo will kill everything that have no "back bones" eg. sea cucumber, worms, start fish, shrimps. Hpo definitely work to keep white spots in control but long term is not good for the fish. skimmer will not function optimally as well.

Besides Hypo and Copper, what is the best bet to fill a tank with nice angels + tanks???........

Wat i do is to use appropriate sized UV and skimmer...

And now i got 9 angels and tangs in my 4ft setup..

Maybe my good luck...

And also weekly 1 pail water change, buys from iwarna..

Just my 2 cents...
