slapper
I'm using a T5 light, one white one blue. Very low maintenance tank, running on a canister filter. But I still make sure that the livestocks get their nutrients such as Mg, Io, Strontium, Ca etc. Using liquid elements. I like it simple and elegant. 1 Quote My Tank Journey

slapper
Wow so many enquiries. I'll try my best to answer all of them. > one white one blue can keep clam? how is yr clam doing in your tank? Yes it is possible. The clam is doing well, mouth wide open feeding on whatever that is in the water. I feed it with plankton about once every 2-3 days. > think you shld add 2 more t5 I would love to, but that would generate more heat and my tank is not exactly wide to accomodate 4 tubes. > What is your tank set up? I'm using a ISTA MaxCare canister filter 360L/hr and a Dymax mini protein skimmer for IQ5. Running on a Dymax Vortex Cooling Fan W-8 and Boyu Wave-Maker WM-101. Substrate is normal fine sand and using Red Sea salt. > No problem keeping camel shrimp in your tank? They r not exactly reef safe. I'm aware of its characteristics. Still observing the camel shrimp. So far seems ok, just that it likes to tramper around the reef, but does not destroy them or eat them. So far so good. > What kind of fan ya using, thinking of getting a fan for my 2 ft too. Using the Dymax Vortex Cooling Fan model W-8. Daytime temp is about 28C and night time about 25-26C. Quote My Tank Journey
law1210
Love your tank, bro. Indeed simple and elegant. How did you manage to maintain it so clean? Machiam like setup 3 days ago like that. I had around the same number of fish as yours. But I cannot tahan not feeding them until fat fat. So I'll always have algae growing on rocks, sand and tank wall. Not like yours. Envy... slapper
I can't get rid of the algae on my rocks. The slugs will help me to do that. For the tank, I scrub it with a toothbrush every night. Takes me only 5 mins but that 5 mins every night will save a lot of trouble downstream. Quote My Tank Journey
slapper
This is a full shot of my tank. During the night, I'll switch off the T5 lights and turn on the LED as it is dimmer. Quote My Tank Journey

At least mine only 5 days a week since it's an office tank. It is not bright enough for corals but in a refugium, it should be sufficient. Quote My Tank Journey
