Hi SM, I can quite conclusively say that the air pump is too weak. Bubbles are not brisk, and they don't cover the entire width. post-3628-13656004328801_thumb.jpg The algae grow in a square sheet on the glass. post-3628-13656004896527_thumb.jpg After scraping the algae from the glass, it looks just like a wet nori sheet. This is 21 days of growth. post-3628-13656005416003_thumb.jpg The canvas seem relatively untouched by algae. post-3628-13656006741731_thumb.jpg The screen is 7"x7" ie 49 sq inches. I'm using 9 pcs of 3W red 660nm LEDs. The lights are switched on 17 hours a day. post-3628-13656009696674_thumb.jpg post-3628-13656011167419_thumb.jpg The air pump definitely needs to be changed. Should I change one of the LED chips to blue? ie 8 reds + 1 blue..

Hi Gurus here,

I'm going to use UAS and the below picture is my halfway DIY work.

Anybody kind to advise me for the sufficient Light for it?

The size of open void area for light is 190mm H x 130mm W

And I'd prefer to buy market LED light set since I don't know how to DIY LED. :dunno:

I don't know where to buy the screen too.

Thank you so much in advance.

:ThanxSmiley:

Two 20 watts LED growlight floodlights would work. Or one of the small LED round UFO grow lights (might be too wide though).

Screen is plastic canvas from sewing or craft or hobby store.

1982: The original dump-bucket style algae scrubber (works, but very hard to build, install, operate, and harvest)
2008: Waterfall style algae scrubber (works good but hard to build and install; must be removed to harvest)
2011: Upflow style scrubber (work goods, easier to build and install on the glass; must be removed to harvest)
2013: ??? (work great, all 3D growth, easy to build, and instant in-place harvesting without needing to remove anything or turn anything off).

Better to use steak knife, or wood saw blade. And push down hard.

Google "LED grow light" and find small round ones like this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-2-2W-3W-4-5W-E27-Red-Blue-38-60-80LEDS-Hydroponic-LED-Plant-Grow-Light-Home-/200866862694?pt=US_Light_Bulbs&var=&hash=item2ec4991666

There is no other equipment, I believe.
