Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!

After some research, i have decided and come up with this design as i am using the following in the sump. Also, i hope this sump is 'flexible' enough so that i can change the set-up if it fails. Intending to keep corals, mixture of SPS and LPS. Probably 80-20 in that aspect. Fishes, hopefully i be able to resist frm adding too much...haha....

Not intending to use rowas phos & bio-pellet at the moment. I believe po4 & no3 should be within control if the DSB & Cheato works well. I hope to go 'natural', ease the electricial bills and cultivate plankton larvae (Did i spelt this correctly? hahaha) back to the DT, thru efforts mainly the DSB, Cheato & rocks.

Looking at the water flow at the hand-written diagram, Sump tank will have 4 compartments and 2 overflow pipes (both with ball valve to cntrl the flow rate). First pipe to compartment A and the second pipe to compartment C. Water in compartment A and C will flow into compartment B. Water in compartment B will flow into compartment D, which is the return section.

These following compartment will have these goodies:

1) Filter sock (Bought the 7inch arylic clip-on from madpetz) - Compartment A

2) Deltec SC 1455 Skimmer (Used SC 2060 as a measurement, just in case in future, upgrading is needed) - Compartment A

3) Cheato & (6500k light bulb or LED)? - Compartment B

4) DSB (4 - 6 inch) - Compartment C

5) Rowa Carbon - Compartment D

6) Small amount of Rocks - Compartment D

7) Ehiem Return 1264 (Tee off to chiller & Return to DT) Compartment D

8) Dosing pump - 3 channels (dont need this now, probably 3 to 6 mths later)

9) 3 x container for KH, MG & CA

I hope Dan is patience enough to go thru with me as i concerned should there be a disruption to the electrical supply, will it be enough to handle the volume of water from the 3 x 3 x 2 DT?

Would love to hear from you guys on this. Thanks and a good monday!

Hi bro! Yes i am... More than a mth since I last post!

This sat tank arrive. Mount the pumps, wavemaker, chiller n filled with freshwater to test for leak, equipment working okay & flow rate n pattern..

Then one week later filled with nsw n start the Ann cycle...

Sump will have dsb and cheato.. Nw I can't decide if I should go ssb or bb since I intending to blast it gradually with mp60 n tunze 6095 ..

Go for bare bottom for easy maintain , you can still add sand later if you wish

Hi Bro. Yes, you are right....i think it makes sense to go BB in the DT based on the flow rate that i am trying to achieve unless i am going for larger sand grain size of 5 - 10mm. Looks like i have to abandon the 'natural' look w/o a ssb......

Hi guys. Pics of CR setting up the cabinet and tank yesterday. The whole process took abt 4hrs and another back breaking 5hrs of cleaning, filling with freshwater and equipment by me. Haha... Doing it for the third time but I having sore arms, legs n neck nw! Haha

Overall good job done by CR. Very helpful and accommodating.

As a kiasu n kiasi owner, testing the tank for leakage and equipment are functioning properly anot. Also to test out the wave created by mp60 and tunze 6095/7092.
