Hi everyone,

I have 1 small 1 medium and 1 large RBTA surviving for 2 mths or so. I am exploring soft coral and wanna some recommendation for me .

Tank: 3ft x 1.5 ft x 2ft (H) (no sump. running on eheim pro 3 canister and hangon protein skimmer)

PH: 8.2+-

Temperature: 30-31 degree celcius (chiller set at 30. I know temperature is high but I have heard from fellow hobbists who kept similar livestock without chiller in Singapore)

SG: 1.024

from API test kit:

dKH: 12

Ammonia/Nitrite: Undetectable

Nitrate : almost undetectable (vodka dosing and running Ocean Free Hydra Stream 2 inline with canister)

Thanks in advance :)

If you want something that spreads fast to cover your rockscape, go for zoos, gsp and mushrooms. Otherwise I feel toadstool and colt coral can be quite nice and easy too.

Regards,
Jeff

Aquarium: 48" x 18" x 24" tank with 24" x 15" x 15" sump (approx. 150 gallons)
Equipment: Maxspect Razor 320W, Vortech MP40, Vertex Omega 180i, Eheim 1262 return pump, Hailea HS 66A, Bacteria King
Fish and coral food: Henry's Reefgourmet pellets, Preis coral energizer, Kent Marine PhytoPlex, Brightwell Reef Snow, Two-Little Fishies Marine Snow
Dosage: Triton Elements

How about some anemones ?

I will only recomend maxi mini carpet. I have tried some of the common types(carpet, maxi mini, green bubble tip) and maxi mini is the only one which can survive fluctuating parameters in the long term. Everything else will slowly die unless your water quality is pristine
