Wow! Half a bucket of salt! Dame siong bro! How often u change water? Shouldnt be too regular i suppose with ur water volume

Why not just use seawater? LCK so near. Salt mix is rly xiong. Not forgetting your rodi media and filtration etc. Those will cost you a fair bit as well

Parameter is not idea for a SPS tank

Someone ask me about the top opening cabinet i use so i might as well share here. For the top opening hinges, i am using 5 stainless proof hinges supported by two hydraulic pneumatic lever on both side.

The BLUM soft closer at the bottom of the cabinet preventing it from slamming when closing the door.

The two refugium with 12 hour revise lighting cycle , growth had been great so far and plenty of pods as well :)

I shifted the " Cyptic zone " to one of the center compartment of frag tank sump few month ago, and did a check few day ago and found some critter and sponge growing on the rocks.

Recently get hold of this Fauna Marine coral dip from a friend and i must say that it is listed now in one of my Top three coral dip for use on corals especially dealing with AEFW. However, do not overdose it as i lose one SPS colony for being " Kaisu " the first time :(

While researching ways to improve the coloration of SPS with LEDs, i came across a thread in RC which one of a member share about the positive effect with AI Hydra 52 with maximum UV exposures which actually make sense since SPS react better with 400 W MH with higher UV to " burn" it. Thus i decided to give it a try and after trying out for a week , i must say that there is certainly some positive effect with the coloration. I will try to share more with photos on the corals when i got time later ..

Below is my current new setting for the LED

8am to 12 pm ( Morning )

W - 30

V - 30

RB - 15

G - 15

B - 50

DB - 50

R - 50

UV - 30

12 pm - 6 pm ( Afternoon - Max UV )

W - 85

V - 65

RB - 35

G - 35

B - 100

DB - 100

R - 100

UV - 100

6 pm - 10 pm ( Similar setting as morning - tone down )

W - 10

V - 10

RB - 15

G - 15

B - 30

DB - 30

R - 30

UV - 20

10 pm - 12 am
RB - 1
DB - 1
12 am to 8 am ( Light off )
However, from my own experience the high UV setting can only be use for coral which has been acclimatize with LEDs with lower setting ( i.e it has been in the tank with LED for quite some time ) , if not high chance the coral may get bleach. Also depending on the numbers of light you have, your LPS might not be able to withstand the direct high UV setting, so you might have to shift it to a lower light area or under some shade. Which i think why some of the LED like the AI has the coral acclimatizing function.
So if you decided to try my setting, it is advisable to slowly adjust your setting upward letting the coral adapt to it.

Every reefers dream! Who needs a mancave when u can get a fishroom!

Impressed with the number of hydra 52 as well! I have to think 10x before i even consider buying a single unit =/

Ever wished u could turn forward time, jump in the future and see how your corals grow out? I always wished i had the ability. lol

Yes, it is like a drop of oil when it touches the water but after mixing it is ok.

That is why you need the door hinges as support as well to hold it in place. With the hydraulic level, it is not enough strength to hold it well.

I have the hinges and hydraulic pneumatic lever . But the door cannot hold in open position.

Was thinking what else to add

Nice video bro! I find a video of the tank really helps to keep track of the progress! I'm doing one monthly as well

I do however find the front a bit bare. But it does also help to give a good depth of the tank :superman: Can really see how huge the tank is.
