Ok thanks, will drop by your place when my tank is in. One thing to check, is the rock design as single piece or that can be mixed and matched? Also if i were to mix life rock and the ceramic rock can it blend in nicely? Many thanks

Hi,

Yes, you can mix and match almost like Lego.

Feel free to drop by Iwarna and scape something for yourself.

You can mix them with liverocks too,

Cheers,

I understand need not cure the ceramic rocks but need to seed them. Can I replace the existing live rocks with these ceramic rocks at one go i.e one out and one in ?Then put back the corals. Whole operation in one day. Tx for advise.

Hi, Its not advisable to replace the liverocks completely with ceramic rocks all at once if you already have a running system. You still need the bacteria in your liverocks to maintain your system. What you can do is to have some liverocks together with the ceramic rocks to hasten the seeding process. The rest of the liverocks you can leave them in the sump tank until the ceramic rocks have turned into liverocks. Cheers, Aquarium Iwarna

Thanks. One more question. How long must wait or how I know the ceramic rocks turn into live rocks.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hi, Should be a minimum of 2 months depending on tanks and your bacteria dosing regime. More information can be found in the thread below: http://aquaroche.fr/en/live-rocks/live-rock-function/ Cheers, Aquarium Iwarna

Hi,

Another way of cultivating ceramic rocks (from Aquaroche):

Put the rocks in big buckets full of salted water (from water changes of the aquarium) + skimmer juice + bacteria.

Leave the rocks for 3 weeks in these buckets, without light, with pump. (time for a biofilm to cover the rocks, which allows good algae to settle.

Then put in the aquarium, and keep some live rocks at least for a few months. (or keep some in a connected sump)

If the sand is durty, you should take it out.

Change is possible in one day for corals, but for fish it's safer to put them in another aquarium.

http://aquaroche.fr/en/live-rocks/cycling-aquaroche-decors/

It takes 4 to 6 months for the rocks to be efficient for reduction of NO3.

Cheers,

Aquarium Iwarna
