Hye to all yuma collector.. hope somebody can share their experience with this beauty. Ive been researching bout ricordea yuma for quite some time but most will recommend florida instead of yuma. Do u guys mind sharing your experiences with these species. Is it true that their mortality rate is high? I never own one but would love or maybe own a carpet of yumas one day.

Ricordea Florida is from the Caribbean while Ricordea Yuma can be found in the western pacific. How expensive depends on where you are located. Since R floridas are sourced far away, they are more expensive in Asia compared to R Yuma.

Price is also depended on colour and quality. A pink Yuma will likely be more expensive.

To each their own, but I tend to have a knack over yumas especially the less commonly seen colours such a multicolour/pink/red

Some rics can grow pretty fast and many experience 'carpet-like' growth within months but then all these depends on your husbandry and water params

U r right... what makes me fall for yuma are the multi coloured ones n also the pink.. even single colour pink yuma are spectacular. But dont mind the other colored ones for learning. My husbandry i can say good. 20% water change weekly.(back breaking). 3× a week replace mechanical sponges. Been doing this for 1.5 years. So far so good.

My own experience is Yuma does very well in my tank but floridas gradually shrinks in the exact same tank. Never bothered to find out why so I just stick with yumas.

Nope. It's a heavily fed tank of anemones, clams and softies.
