Hi Bros, do your switch off your wavemakers? If so, how frequent and for how long?

I noticed that some sps polps extensions seem to be better when wavemakers are off. Also, how much "wave" is enough for sps tank?

Thanks for sharing.

I don't use wave maker due to strong return pump. Polyps movement can be observe. Full extension for hammer coral torch .. sps ? There's polyps around their tiny skeleton. :< Not really expert in sps.

I dun switch off my wavemaker but I suppose we should or at least tune to smaller wave during the "sleeping" time of your tank. May consider using the timer for my display tank lights.

Some wavemakers do have nightmode included where it will be smaller waves if they are in a dark environment.

Using Apex Neptune controller here.

- It is programmed to turn off the return pump & wavemakers during feeding.

- At the 7 minute mark, wave makers makes a quick 5second pulse to redistribute food then stops again. It waits another 8 minutes before resuming normal operation.
