tinykimchi
Finally back to reefing after a long break. Setting up a simple 2 Ft with just my Tonga branches. Rocks were tie with black cable tie, overtime, it will be encrust with coraline from past experience. Rest were bond with EpoPutty. Good stuff ! Added an old living live rock to speed up cycling process. (which will be remove once its complete) Forgot to buy prawn ! Equipment currently, Skimmer: Skimz SH1 Wave Maker: jebao Rw 4 Think of getting another wave marker in case the Jebao break down too. Will be buying a lightset soon. Thinking of those 2 T5 tube or Maxspect glaive, Difference is $200 bucks, hahaha. Any suggestions ? tinykimchi
Cycling is finally over.....Took nearly a month. Changed ard 20% of water. Added T5 temporary, while waiting for LED to ship over. Powerhead blowing this way to prevent dead spots.
tinykimchi
LED bulbs arrived from HK. 15W each. Problem is that the beam are straight....which is kinda expected. Light stand can be buy from Unicell at Simlim square. Ard 7 bucks each.
tinykimchi
Hmmm, apparently there's some diatom appearing on my rock(before I used those LED). I was running with T5. Given that I have no live stock, just did water change after cycling.... I suspect the Bottled distill water I got from NTUC, isn't that pure afterall.... Admiraltian
It's normal to have diatoms after cycling. Planted
Take it as it's the stages of algae ^^ They will go off eventually. As long as not hair algae.. ^^ And YOU ARE RIGHT NTUC distilled water not that pure. About 5ppm tested on tds pen. what it is I'm not sure.. Seldom see diatom in my previous tanks. oh well. Still dun know where to get new supply of distilled water since NTUC raise its prices. tinykimchi
Added Chaeto to create some healthy pods into the tank. Running on 12 hr 15watt white LED. My red LED just arrived, maybe might do a swap. thanks bro thomas_lim
tinykimchi
Full tank shot. My midas blenny is hiding, lol. I like my tank to be blue. New true percs. Finally get them to eat after 4 days of not eating.... However, after 1 week, began to fight and the smaller one got its tail nip off. Isolating them now. Planted
Thought of housing ur chaeto in external breeding box? So you free space in tank and looks nicer? and also prevent fish from getting trapped.

I suspect could be not enough flow, but its above my wavemaker. Thinking of DIY a algae scrubber instead. Still sourcing for ideas..
