Hi Bros and Sis,

NEW-biee here on Marine Tank. It has been a couple of months since I started to have interest on Marine tanks. Looking at pictures, following threads and finally made up my mind to setup one. After visiting AQUARAMA 2015, it infuriated my longing to have like and so I started buying the necessary equipments. It has been a past few days that I ordered my tank, (long weekend) finally it will be delivered tomorrow.

I know that I could be guided by experienced reefers out there. I admire the patience and efforts to the marine tank hobbyists. And I hope I could be like one someday.

And so my journey starts. Below, my is my setup. Feel free to comment. It will be fully appreciated.

Hi guys, can you id what are those tiny particles floating around? My rpumo is at its lowest return aswell as my wavemaker. Im also using filter sock to my drain. But cant figure out what to do. :/

The rocks seem to have occupied a large chunk of the tank

I find your water damn clear.

Maybe get a filter sock with smaller micron.

Or maybe lift your wm abit. Might be causing some stir in the sand

Initially I ordered this tank from EOA, but their supplier ###### up in the end i cancel the order.

Non the less, very promising setup

Those floating things really bothers me. I hope it's only substrate particles.

Will do paramters in a while.

I had also put my wm higher and on intermittent low blow mode, as well as my return pum on its lowest return. With regards to the rocks, I purposely ordered extra for cycling and when finish i could put some in the sump. I am also using sock and running my skimmer with clear bubbles so far. I will buy some more micro filter later.

I see you are using the 100 micron filter sock (red ring). These are great for clearing up the water fast but can clog quite quickly when livestock is added.

A 200 micron (blue ring) is also available which could 'last' a couple of days longer.

Those nylon type from Madpetz quite gd quality. Come with inner filter wool bag. Can last abt 1 wk without washing. If u dun want to wash ur filter sock so often. Juz get a lot of those inner filter wool bag. Throw away after every wk use. The outer nylon sock can Juz wash once a mth depending on how dirty it is.

Diatom attack on 4th day now with cleaners hermit, 4snails lessen lighting to 8hrs and 20wc done. But they bloom alot and fast. :/

Plan to add fishes if i will maintain my nitrite to 0 the whole week. Any suggestions?
