Clownfish disease?

Recommended Posts

Hi All. I just started a 5g tank with a pair of 2 month old oscellaris clowns. I bought a cycled tank with the filter, cooling fan and led light set up. It's been 3 days now and the less dominant clown hasnt tried to eat. It spends it's time at the bottom of the tank breathing heavily secreting a white strand poop. Is this a disease?

The other clown is eating well and has stopped confronting the less dominant clown. They spend most of the time at the same spot of the tank.

Ammonia 3.0 ppm

Nitrate 10.0 ppm

The clown died today. Any advice on what I can do to lower the ammonia and nitrate levels? Really hope the remaining clown makes it

Sorry for your lost, bro.

I am afraid these parameters doesn't sound as a cycled tank...

Clown fish are actually very prone to white spot and brooklynella when the tank is new. Let the tank settle down for a while longer. Did both clown die or just one?
