I am having issues with one of my SPS (Acropora) which is turning white from the bottom. It's located at mid-height on a live rock with strong flow - not sure if that's a suitable location?

Also my zoas (located at the bottom of the tank with less flow) are refusing to open up at all.

Will try to add pics if possible.

Hi,

Apologies for the delay.

Since my last post, there has been some changes to my setup.

Sadly, I lost my GSP (to some worms), green BTA (got sucked into my filter), zoas (don't know why) and practically all my SPS (except couple of frags) which all turned white. I have also added a few softies and LPS, but at this point I don't believe I am ready to take on SPS.

Current tank setup:

CORALS:
- 1 Branched Montipora (frag only)
- 2 Flowerpot - Green and Purple (Goniopora)
- 1 Plate Coral - Orange (Cycloseris)

- 1 Plate Coral - White (Long-tentacled)
- 1 Mushroom Coral - Red (Discosoma)
- 1 Brain Coral - Green (Trachyphyllia)
- 2 Frogspawn - Green and Brown (Euphyllia)
- 2 Bubble Coral - Green and White (Plerogyra Sinuosa)
- 3 Zoa Coral
- 1 Elegance Coral

LIVESTOCK:
- 2 Firefish
- 4 Blue Green Reef Chromis
- 1 Blue Tang

- 1 Yellow Tang

- 1 Powder Blue Tang

- 1 Wrasse (unidentified)
- 1 One Spot Foxface
- 1 Maroon Clown
- 2 Clarkii Clown
- 1 Three-Spot Domino Damsel
- 1 Yellow Watchman Goby
- 1 Diamond Watchman Goby
- 1 Engineer Goby
- 1 Pistol Shrimp
- 1 Venus Anemone Shrimp
- 1 Yellow Banded Coral Shrimps
- ~ 10 Turban Snails
- 1 Yellow Sea Cucumber
- 1 Crocea Clam
- 3 Banded Sea Stars
- 1 Linckia Sea Star (Blue)

- 1 Feather Star (Red)

- 1 Feather Duster Worm

- 1 Sea Urchin (Long-Spined)

What could be triggering STN in SPS?
