Just finished reading your thread from pg 1 to pg 14,

This is a bad hobby where we face failures but as long as you climb back after falling down, we will be taught with alot more new experiences, cheers to your tank, i'm thinking of getting r80 to try as well, but i have learnt to slow down, gonna do a 3 months cycle for my tank, now still doing initial cleaning, and i love your entire tank layout, was thinking should I change my main tank or just keep it and ignore it  big headache, maybe i should talk to you to find out the cost for just your main tank

Hi bro, thanks for spending time  reading my thread. I got my tank some yrs back from Iwarna previous tank maker, Heng. I think he is no longer doing tank and I think maybe the tank cost nowadays might be different from 5yrs ago? Nonetheless u can still pm me if u have any enquires, I will my best to answer if I can. Thanks.

Good to see u back too, bro. So far for my tank size, the slw20 kinda weak and can’t be use as the main wave maker so I push it down to the left bottom corner near the back to sweep up detritus instead. Got another slw30 to use as main one and aim it at my sps on the top left corner. Hope this helps.

Thanks! i just ordered 1 too but my new set up is only a 60 cube so should be sufficient..

I realized the jebao app settings for my slw20/30m for whichever mode I preset alw go back to default even after saving it. Anyone encountered the same issue?

Last week made another attempt to add more fishes. 2 flavo, 1 evansi and 2 lyretail. Surprisingly one of the lyretail was dead on the third day. Rest still surviving, fingers crossed.

was it aggression that was the issue? recently been going back and forth with the idea of adding a couple more tangs to my main display.. but adding new fish when there’s already equilibrium in the tank is always a scary prospect hahahahah

I didn’t see any fighting at all. One of the died with a popped eye so I think it’s illness. The other jumped out after a few days. I read they get spooked easily. Rest I accounting them to nutrition issue as I trying to feed them.

do you use an autofeeder? that could help with species with high metabolism that need to eat smaller amounts more frequently like anthias and butterflies

Last update will be my equipment. Decided to change my wavemaker as I using them for a while now. The Jebao ow50 seem gigantic even for my 4footer. So as previously updated I got myself, Slw 20m and 30m. Flow not quite as strong as compared to my previous  pumps like ow50. Ow50 rated at 20k lph and slw30 13k lph.

Added another maxspect jump gyre  wavemaker mj gf4k. Looked slick enough with the orange rotor but to my disappointment it broke down after a week. Kudos to the supplier to replace a brand new set immediately. Hopefully this one lasts.04AED935-72F3-4976-8425-EF9AA85963A1.thumb.jpeg.6548bbffcb9f4a56003b785e206a2bd3.jpeg

Anthias is quite prompt from internal and external dieaseas like urenoma.

The first few days after getting them is very crucial especially if u are getting those fragile species.

For those fragile species, u must start treatment immediately after u get them and make sure you entice them to eat.

If not eating mostly with die within 3 days.

I got a mix of 12 Anthias (lyretail, bartlett, canberryi) for about 1.5 yrs but so far 4 died liao.

Only lyretail and bartlett is more easy to handle, the rest is quite hard.

Tempting to try evansi and queen but the success rate too low so give up.

I see, I think I shall gave up for the time being. Even my 2 existing Evansi which are still alive after 6mths hv lost its vibrant colors. One looked skinny while the other look normal built. Both are active though. Have a lot of fishes’ death lately. Even my gem tang also died suddenly with no signs of illness. The new Evansi still in hiding. Doubt it’s eating so chances not high. Dunno wat to do now to entice them to eat. The lyretail blue eyes has no problem feeding them at all. If I were to try more anthias, maybe shall give  Bartlett and dispar a go.

Yap, anthias got this problem. Even successfully keep them but don't know why overtime they just slowly died. I guess maybe most of them is not suitable to keep in tank.

Yes, lyretail is hardy just need to make sure no aggression can liao. If can, try to feed them frozen copepods like NEarth Copepods once daily, I get gd result after 6 mths.

Coloration and health is getting way better.

Erm ur gem tang just died out of suddenly or slowly stop eating and died?

Zebrasoma is very hardy, can even tank Ick quite well.

Sometime sudden dead is a bad sign bro, better take note le.

2 species of Anthias i had great success is Dispar and blue eyes.. purple queen is best left in the ocean their survival rate long term is as good as 0. They also need to be fed very often with very nutritional food..

Suddenly died, it was feeding. Some chasing once In a while by the bigger senior tangs but not all the time. So far, rest of the tang are ok. No ich. Maybe is attacked by one of bigger tang, Juz escape my notice. Will take note of this brand, nearth. Thanks.

I think my tank is jinxed. Cannot keep more than 12 fishes. Sure will have death one way or the other.

Sad. Won’t be adding any more fishes anytime soon.

Now with a nice spread of light and it’s brighter too. Temporarily running at 5hrs only. Also hoping to reduce maintenance cost in the long run by not having the need to change t5 bulbs and improve colors by going full leds as compared to T5ho. Will only know in the months to come. So far I’m satisfied with the results.
