RAV-65
Hi all, got conflicting advise from a few sources, but some say the sun coral share the same "stomach", some say they need to be fed mouth by mouth, which is the correct info? Anyone care to share? Vincent Ho Quote People do not plan to fail; Often they just fail to plan... Wat I do to prevent myself from tearing my hair out... My stress remedy... Maxmike
it better to feed individually as some may not get the food. i got two suncoral and some of the coral at the lower parts never got fed and die so i believe it do not share the "stomach"..that what i think I'm still a newbie so if i'm wrong pls dun scold me hor.. SRC Member flubberina13 Posted March 20, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted March 20, 2004 Definitely...if you want to see them sustaining and growing...Mine has grown quite a bit eversince I fed them with variety of food...eg, cyclops, mysis, minute-sized shrimpmeat and squid, Ocean Nutrition Formula Two pellets and also live brine shrimps...all they savour with gusto... For the last item, I always wonder how it is like for them as the brineshrimps are still alive as they are 'swallowing'...
DeepBlue
can spray cyclopeze or GP at them when their mouth opens....I have been doing that for months

SRC Member flubberina13 Posted March 21, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted March 21, 2004 you can also use a turkey baster or pipette... No need to control the syringe and also more control at the amount you spray... But very 'tang-poon' to spray cyclops hor...

SRC Member Tigger Posted March 21, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted March 21, 2004 I feed mine once a week and they are fine...ie, keep growing
RockyBoy
I feed mine once every 2 days. Its size has doubled with more polyps and more mouths to feed. They seems to enjoy my food paste consisting of prawns, nonis, silverfish, squids and mysis. SRC Member Guinness Posted March 30, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted March 30, 2004 Thanks to all who have shared their experiences here...... i have been religiously super-target feeding my suns. Besides gaining a much steadier hand from hand feeding all those polyps, they are all looking so much happier since.

SRC Member Guinness Posted April 1, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted April 1, 2004 i feed mine with cyclopeeze every day. so far no problem. maybe my eyesight not good enough, but i can't see them catch the cyclopeeze.... even when i syringe it right ontop of them. j maybe they catch a few floating around before the fish get them all. Gotta physically give them a worm or shrimp.... hand also shake after so many polyps
RAV-65
ya boy... moreover i have to put them at the bottom of the tank as they dun really like strong lights.... SRC Member blacknails Posted April 2, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted April 2, 2004 i use to have 1,but i nv see them opening up.. than how to feed? When you feed your fishes frozen brine shrimp, the sun corals will 'smell' the brine shrimp juice and after a few days of feeding eventually fully open up. Or you can just continue squirting its food on it like once a day or once in two days and eventually they'll learn to open up.
SRC Member Thexder Posted December 12, 2007 SRC Member Share Posted December 12, 2007 My suns only open up when the tank lights are off. Tried so many times to get them to open up by squirting cyclopezee and Henry food around, but still...
