Yo guys!

New start for me, after a few years with a big tank; now decided to re-start with a small tank;
Signs of age catching up fast :huh:

Trying hard to keep it simple, easy, low noise and low cost :huh:; and hopefully shiok enough to enjoy every night.

Tank: Size about 3 x 2 x 2 ft, IOS, so display only about 2.2 x 2 x 2.
I still do not like sump; find it messy and noisy :mellow:
Pump: Vortech M1
Chiller: Daikin compressor
Rocks: From previous tank; I got excess of 30kg of rocks after decided what rocks to use in my current mini tank.
Wavemaker: Still deciding whether I need one.

Your tank lamination matches your table very much .. or is it make by the same people ?

Yeah, the tank maker make the tank and the tank cabinet and the cabinet beside the tank.

All customized; easier for me to design and fit into my living area :goodjob:

Nice tank, just curious how will the cooling coil fit into IOS?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks yukok.lim08;
The titanium coil; I changed to a smaller one; it used up half the area of one half of the IOS.
The rest I fill up with mini rocks and will add in rowaphos + carbon there too.

I used 2 packets of carib live sands pink Bimini,

and 2 packets of natures ocean direct, which I pour in first coz they are finer.

Actually, not really into sand, but since my tank is mini....

Might as well go for the ocean beachie look :rolleyes:

      Hi fellow reefers,
      I've got quite an experience with freshwater planted tanks, including larger system with a sump like setup, a very high PAR tanks with no algae issues (with precise nutrient & water chemistry control), complex filtration etc., and now I feel kinda ready for a saltwater setup.
      This is supposed to be a mixed reef where I plan to start with some easiest species and gradually evolve it as I learn more to more delicate fishes & LPS & SPS over a few years time.
      The question for this topic is whether I should got with a 5x2x2 ft tank which is much more convenient space wise, or shall I squeeze in 6x2x2 ft if it will offer much more flexibility in the future. I'm reading contradictory advices, some folks say 5 ft vs 6 ft is a huge difference, some say it's more or less the same. 5 ft fits perfectly in my room, 6 ft is a tight fit, but I'd go for it is it is a real difference. I'm just planning as of now, nothing is bought yet, so other dimension suggestions are also welcome.

      Thanks!
