Why isn’t my qq1 skimmer bubbling

Recommended Posts

Hi guys ! I just got my this skimmer on Sunday . Can’t be spoiled leh , because it was foaming on the day I purchase it . I filled up the container before starting . Don’t seem to be water level too Low , because I had a bigger tank outside , and it’s not foaming as well . Could it be building up or what ?

Brand new skimmers need time to break in...

I'm having the same problem too... not bubbling up and producing a lot of microbubbles in the tank. it was working fine for half a year though. and I have taken it apart to wash too...

Hi at least yours manage to work good for half a year .
It’s been 5 days and my skimmer is still not foaming all the time .
Only foam twice so far and I’m really upset of this skimmer .
Not too sure , if it’s not doing its job and now my ammonia is 0.25ppm .
Trying to be patience though

Break in normally take 1-2 weeks.
And u will need to clean the neck every 3 days after it turn normal.

U also need to use ur finger to cover the hole for the siphon for a good few mins and check that there is no air in the inner hard plastic tube and the water level should raise to the top and once u release ur finger the water level will lower and more bubbles inside the slimmer.

New tank usually not much thing to skim.

Hope it and patience helps.
