A flower bouquet for MOTHER'S DAY

Est. August 2019 The guiding principles behind my tank design and build were simplicity and ease of maintenance. Another aim was also to establish and maintain an ultra low nutrient environm

Acropora nursery, a few inches from the surface at low-tide.

Ice Fire

A centre piece. It's smack in the middle, receiving optimal flow and light. I see a few new branches forming....

Ash, the gravel consists of a mixture of 40% course sand (approx size 2-3mm) and 60% coral chips/crushed coral (5-10mm). Just a thin layer for aesthetics. Sand for the wrasses.

Ok. got it.

Weekly 5g water change with RODI mixed with TM Pro-Reef. After finishing one blue bucket of RS salt in March, decided to give TM a try. SPS continuing to show good growth and colouration.

Key parameters tested just before the water change.

Those colors!! Any particular reason for the change in salt?

I've used TM before, for the 110g. A salt I'm familiar and had good success with. So just thought I'd give it a go again.

The elusive Pom-Pom Crab. It ventured out this evening, seeking shelter beneath the Montipora Setosa.

Thanks! Doing what I can to bring out the best in the corals and livestock under my care. It's a continuous learning journey and the sharing of experiences with the reef keeping community which I enjoy. Happy reefing!! :)

Thanks for the kind words.... Jun, Apple and Bob!

It's been three months since my last 'top-view' full tank shot. Here's a little update, one I took yesterday.

Corals have grown for sure, and some have really blossomed....

Amazing! What's the dimention of your main display? 2x Hydra 52HD and an Orphek led bar seems plenty of light for such a tank size!

Thanks Evo!

Tank dimensions are 650x650x500mm.

For an SPS dominant tank, light maximisation was the guiding principle, both in terms of PAR and coverage. Spectrum wise, the 52HDs are already a proven light. And the Orphek, for that little extra visual effect and pop.
