What do clams eat?

Do clams need to be fed? I tried feeding frozen prawns but it spat it out....so wondering if they need to be fed. Mines a maxima.m

i tink clam is vegen, dont eat meat one , its filter feeder, phytoplankton bah

Based on my understanding depending on the size, can't remember the exact size but when they are small they required feeding like pods, calanus, oyster egg, fish egg etc.

When they get bigger they will be like coral required good lighting as food.

Only the smaller size clams need to be fed phytoplankton. The rest will just filter feed from the water column no need additional feeding
