Mangrove shoots

Hello,

I have extra mangrove shoots that I would like to use for other purposes.

They mentioned that it can also be used for freshwater tanks. Is it possible to use it at a tank.with my terrapin.....for filtration? Please enlighten me.

Like macroalgae they export nutrients at the water, but IME unless you have a lot of mangroves, they aren’t as efficient as other algaes and take a long time to grow. so i wouldn’t use it as the main filtration for a system
