Hi all,

Just curious, do you QT all the fish you buy from LFS? Have there been any bad experience buying fish from LFS? Example, marine ich or velvet disease

Should QT , better safe than sorry . Ich can wipe out ur entire tank. Also to make sure the fish is able to eat well before adding into DT

Once QT and making sure its disease-free, is there a chance of the fish developing diseases by itself?

If you do it correctly, unlikely will happen in your main tank.

If can, get a UV sterilizer this give u a peace of mind also.

I agree with above. With all that I have researched you need to do a proper quarantine t first and then do a proper maintenance of dt.

So what I do is proper quarantine using copper, prazi and metro which would eradicate most of the common disease which could bring the display tank down.

After that is done, I put them in display tank which has a UV steriliser and good water quality.
Along with this, feed variety of food and add selcon once a day.

This way, in case I mess up a little in the quarantine, I manage in the display tank.
