Dry rock if you can tolerate the ugly phase when diatoms and other unsightly algae tend to grow first, definitely a better option for lesser likelihood of pests like aiptasia or bubble algae getting into your tank, but with live rock(especially ones well-established enough) sometimes you don’t even see the initial diatom bloom
