Live Sand Substrate Question

Recommended Posts

After my tank is set up and cycled, can I continue to add more live sand into my tank?

Asking because after I do my cleaning for the tank, I realised that over time, I'll lose some sand. So my only thought is after some time, I want to add some sand back into the tank.

Can, but if you have corals, it'll be better to funnel the sand directly to the bottom of the tank via a hose. Most corals don't like sand in their fleshy parts.

Also be ready for a mini cycle/diatom bloom, since you using live sand cfm got some dying microbes
